Pony Corral / Re: TOY SHOW: Hasbro introduces MLP Guardians of Harmony

This is just a new line everyone brushables and fashion styles will still be around..

My concern is that this toyline will never get a decent worldwide release. Hasbro is trying all these by products (POP, EQG, ponyville sets,...) but either they never get released here or the stores can't get rid of them. I don't think anyone is claiming that brushables will stop being made.

Either way, i will be really surprised if these will ever get released here. None of the big blindbag ponyville set things even got here.

I know right? And if they were they would be twice as expensive ;.;

At this point i have no idea how MLP is still a thing in Belgium. All i ever see are the big playsets and some glitter maned brushables they can't seem to get rid of. If i did not have the internet i would believe G4 was already ending.
So why Hasbro bothers making action figures like these instead of improving the toys that get a worldwide release is beyond me. Things were never this bad during G3.

I really like the Shining Armor set and the Celestia/Nightmare Moon set.
The other figures don't do much for me. I guess it is just the fact that i'm growing tired of the same characters. A Twilight figure with an angry face is still just a Twilight figure.

These are adorable! It would have been nice if the actual cartoons had caputered this style more.

What is with these akwardly agressive comments?  Sometimes it feels some G1 fans will only be pleased with ya know...old G1 toys. No current merch will be good enough.
I'm just happy G1 is getting some love during this G4 borefest.

Because... opinions? I have no problem with G1 getting more attention. Like the playskool figurines, the anniversary sets and such. But sometimes G1 squeezed into a popular style is something that just doesn't work for people.

Still think it is silly to sound angry over a sideline of toys. People want G1 to get some love but i never see no complaints when the line actually does get some love. The quality is too bad, the art is too G3, the heads are too big, they don't look like a full blown copy of the original....
People don't seem to get that it is pretty much a wonder these are getting made in the first place.

Take my money!!

It's a pity that ,unless there is a big time jump on the show, we will never see Flurry as a kid let alone as an adult.

I'm rather dissapointed by the playset.
The fact that it is pretty much one color makes it look really cheap. The Flurry Heart figure looks equally cheap.
And hey, another Cadance that looks like all the other ones. Myeeeeeeh.

I like the fact that it will be a girl and the name is...ok.
It's not the best name but it could have been worse. Now to hope the design will be nice.
Crossing my fingers they will use the baby Applejack design as seen in that one episode. I greatly dislike the regular baby design (like that of Pound Cake). Their eyes will never make sense to me.

Will have to pick this one up! I love concept art.
It's sad that G2 is forgotten once again though. Since they are talking about the evolution of pony designs, they should have had it in the timeline.
It's not like G2 had no animation at all either. The commercials were the first to use 3D animation and the pc game was 2D animated. It just feels like Hasbro wants to forget G2 ever happened. A while back they left the gen out of one of their own timelines too. Stupid because G2 was a great gen.
Also amused that they called G1 ponies "chunkier". G1 ponies just look more like actual ponies, guys.

I think the weird thing to be is that despite the fact most bronies aren't particularly into the merchandise, they still have a level of influence over it.  I don't think it is necessarily their fault per se, but more of Hasbro's for actually listening to them complain about merch they don't buy.  I think Hasbro has a bad tendency to overestimate the sales they can get out of bronies or something.

I think this is where a lot of frustration comes from. To a lot of collectors brushables are the most important part of the toyline.  So it sucks to see that part of the toyline decline while bronies get a lot that caters to them.
You can't say "you can't complain cause this is just a toyline aimed at kids" while other adult fans get what they want.  Personally i'm dissapointed that the brushable toyline is boring beyond belief but there is still enough that keeps me amused. (Though these days i enjoy collecting Pokemon more) If G4 stops entertaining me i will just collect older gens or wait for G5.
