Since the 2nd wave forum got a lot of opinions I thought it would be interesting to do it for the first wave too so which of the 1st wave is your least liked and do you like the first wave of TAF better than the 2nd the following year?
My vote for least fave is Up Up and away. I really do not like that bright pink magenta body colour mixed with the fading pink hair. Also not a fan of the green and yellow balloon symbol choice with those colours. Love Melody isn't far behind. I mean did we really need two Quackers poses in this set? On the other hand my fave is dancing butterflies I'm a big fan of the locket pose & yellow ponies and her butterfly symbols are so aesthetically pleasing to me. Even though dancing butterflies might be my fave of all the TAF ponies I personally prefer the second wave more than the first overall.

Milky Way, I don’t like the pose, and the stars tend to loose glitter.

I prefer the first wave to the second, because they're the Ponies we had in the UK, & Dancing Butterflies, Milky Way, Love Melody & Up-Up & Away were in my old collection from when I was younger. Because of this my least fave of the first wave is unfortunately Lollipop/ Sweet Tooth. I must admit overall the TAFs did overdo the pink hair, with as many if not more having a shade of pink hair than not. However, Strawberry Fair's hair (I much prefer that name to Sugarberry, which I reserve for her baby) was more in tune with her strawberry theme what with being almost red, while Lollipop's hair is the same boring shade of pink as the Birthflowers & many others. On top of this Strawberry Fair did make it well into the "50 most beautiful Ponies" website (who remembers that???), though I honestly find Dancing Butterflies more beautiful - that yellow!!! Those butterflies!!! That graceful pose!!! - IMO she's the most beautiful of the set.

Milky Way. I don't like her pose. Or that face.

Sweet Tooth. I had her as a kid and she just never stood right, and I never really cared for the symbols.

I don't dislike any of them, but if I had to pick one, I guess it would be Up, Up and Away for me too. That's a bit too much pink for my taste, although her bright yellow and green balloons help balance out the overpowering pink.

Hmm, let's see, I've only ever owned Milky Way from that series. I agree with the others, Up, Up and Away's bright pink is definitely not my cup of tea, and I don't really like Sugarberry / Strawberry Fair either, her hair is too bright as well. I prefer pastel colours. :) Dancing Butterflies is definitely my favourite of this set.

I have a feeling this will be unpopular, but my least favorite is Dancing Butterflies. Way too much yellow for me x)

Sweet Tooth for me. She just doesn't do it for me, and UpUp was one of my first ponies.

This is one of my favorite sets, so it's hard. Milky Way, UU&A, and Dancing Butterflies are childhood ponies, and Sugarberry was a collection goal. Sweet Tooth came from a once dear friend. So probably Love Melody. She was the last I acquired to complete the set and the one I have the least emotional attachment to.

Sweet Tooth/Lollipop I say with slight hesitation. They're all solid designs, but they also play it pretty safe. The second TAF set is more daring and creative as far as color schemes and symbols go. (Which often seems to be the case whenever there's a follow-up set, like with the first/second Rainbow and Twinkle Eyes sets.)

Sweet tooth. I don't like her pose, and her color combination is lackluster to me. Followed closely by Love Melody for the same reasons, but her colors are slightly better.
Unpopular opinion here, but Up Up and Away is one of my favorites, 2nd to Sugarberry/Strawberry Fair. Her pink hair is kind of surprising in combination with her green and yellow balloons; I would have expected her to have yellow hair or something. Dancing Butterflies would have been a fave (love her yellow on yellow) but for her pose...that is my least favorite G1 pose. Milky Way is the opposite for me; I love the Mimic pose, but find MW's colors kind of boring.

Love Melody. She's just completely forgettable to me. Second least favorite would be Sweet Tooth. I absolutely love all the others!

Up Up and Away has specifical colors. I don't think what they are combined well. I really love balloons, but green, yellow and hard pink? Srsly? >_<

It's funny, because I sorta-love all of the ponies in this set! But I'm biased; I don't usually like the monochromatic ponies as much, and Dancing Butterflies is REALLY monochromatic. Her only saving grace is that she was my very first pony! :O So I can't say her! But probably my least favorite would be Up Up and Away; she's one of my favorite G1 poses, but the magenta on pink doesn't read great for me! (Probably that monochromatic bias again!) I do like her a lot more when her hair's faded to white! I do really love her MO baby, though; I love that little magenta unicorn! I remember pining after them in the leaflet as a kiddo!

I don't care much for Sweet Tooth. I think it's her symbol; the colours seem a bit dull to me in combination with her colour scheme.

Overall, I like the first set of TAF ponies to the second set. I guess Up Up and Away is my least favorite but that's only because I like the other five better. Milky Way is probably my favorite, but I think she is more striking when she has the white stars.

I agree! I really don't like how her colors were combined, the balloons don't look that good against her pink IMO. I feel like the green wasn't a good choice lol

My childhood ones were Strawberry Fair, Dancing Butterflies and Milky Way. I have zero regrets for any of those choices.
Although I am not as fond of white star MW as I am the silver star one. We had both in the UK. Mine was silverstar so I guess I have bias.
As a kid I really was a bit obsessed with Love Melody.
I dunno why.
If the hair is still pink on Up Up and LM, then my least favourite would be Lollipop. She had quite a comic presence but I was never super in love with her even as a kid. But I don't like LM or Up Up faded, so if they're faded, then probably one of them.
And yeah, not so keen on white star MW.
Favourites are Dancing Butterflies and Strawberry Fair, for childhood nostalgia reasons. SF is the only one I have on her UK card though I do have DB's backcard and about five loose ones xd.
...I like both TAF sets. This one because as Ponybookworm said, they're the set we had in the UK (for 2 years -.-)...but I do also love some of the 2nd set (Buttons, NG) for how pretty they are.
I guess my favourite TAF overall (or I should say, "Party Pony") is probably Strawberry Fair though. She was my first, and I still love her. White and red is a combination that always works imo.
