Anyone Else Hoping the Fair Exclusive Will Be a G4 Pony?

While I like G4 , personally I would much prefer the fair pony to stay as a G3. The size and shape are better for an art /collector pony . I suppose a good compromise might be to make the comic con pony a G4 styling size,... but pleeeease do keep the fair pony as a G3 Hasbro!

I hope it stays G3, but I wouldn't mind having a FS G4, that would be kinda cool.. and whoever mentioned Mare Do Well... that would make an epic comic con pony!

Eeeehhhh tbh they cater WAY too much to bronies now. I'm more a fan of G3...can't it live on somehow? The size and quality issues aside, I really would prefer it if they give the older fans SOMETHING.

The bronies got that terrible name ':muffin: Pony' canonised. Let them have that and leave it. They aren't the only fans, much as some of them seem to think.

Can I ask ... how is putting a fair design on a G4 body "catering to the bronies"?

G4 is simply the current generation of ponies.  I am not a brony, rather a longtime collector, but I love G4s just as I love any generation of MLP.  Is it wrong of me to like to like G4 and think it might be neat to see a fair design on one?  I can feel the disdain dripping off your post.  It's not like they're contemplating making Pony the fair design or anything.

I like G3 too, and while I do think they make for great art ponies, I can welcome change.

I think the size and proportions of the G3 clone pose make it sort of ideal to be an exclusive art pony. A G4 would be cool, but I don't think it would be as good as even if it is a styling pony there is still a rather limited amount of room to work with.

I think the debate of the fair ponies pose has come up in the past. Not g3 verses g4 though. I think and I do mean think that it was confirmed that the clone pose would be the fair exclusives pose they use all the time. Then again I'm sure Hasbro could change their minds. Anything is possible 

I don't mind either one as long as the design is unique and stunning Although I would have to say FS G4 would be ideal.

i'd be okay with a FS G4 but my heart still goes to the G3's for the annual ponies. I'm just a traditional kind of girl!

Though for SDCC I hope to see a FS Mare-do-well ^_^


Though it would be cool if they offered both...a G3 and it's FS G4 counterpart. This way lovers of both gens could be happy!

Personally, I'm tired of the G3 clone pose, and the designs get more complicated, and not to mention odder each year. It's nice to have something unique once in a while, but the recent exclusives have been looking a tad tooooo unique for my taste. The complicated designs also mean the ponies often come with lots of paint errors, and I don't want to pay high dollars for flawed ponies that will bug me.
 
I'd like to see a G4 this year. On the contrary to many, I don't really want a FS. I like the size they are in now, great for display and housekeeping. I think if it's a G4 exclusive and priced $12-15 each, no one will actually complain about owning one.

Apart from what cartoon you liked better, the G3 molds are so over saturated. They need more G4 fashion style ponies. I can think of at least ten ponies or sets that all fans would love here are a few:
1. Pegasus Pinky Pie
2. Brushable main six in G1 colors.
3. FS Moondancer mentioned in episode 1
4. FS Zecora.
5. Any G4 pony in the correct colors..Twilight, Luna ect.

1. Pegasus Pinky Pie
2. Brushable main six in G1 colors.
3. FS Moondancer mentioned in episode 1
4. FS Zecora.
5. Any G4 pony in the correct colors..Twilight, Luna ect.

All those ponies are FIM related. How is that "cartoon neutral"?
Also, i don't think they would use fashion style ponies. I think that might get too expensive.

 As for the G4 poses there are only 3 and over all there are only 8 different ponies. By comparison there are literally hundreds of the G3 ponies out there and not one of them directly relates to G1. I think the cost difference for the fashion style ponies shows in the fashion itself and the higher quality the pony.

I love the G4's but my primary interest for collecting them has been entirely founded from the show. They'll prove to be great investments in the future as this new and rising fandom (bronies and "classic collectors" alike) revitalizes and secures the MLP market.  Asides from that, I simply find the G3 style and mold to be far more aesthetic than the G4's and resonating more with the G1's I grew up with and loved. 

A pro of changing to G4: all of the G3 fair/comic con ponies already out or collected would increase in value about 17 percent with each passing year. 

The con: all the G3 fair/comic con ponies would be more expensive for those who don't already own most of them. Secondly, no more G3 fair/comic con ponies!
