question about second hand stuff (in relation to bjds)

Sooooo.

I've been out of the loop for like a solid 5+ years. It just seems like in general that message boards/forums aren't the place to go anymore.

Where do people go these days for second hand clothes, wigs and dolls?  I am mostly looking for my mini but also my tiny...

I am hoping the answer isn't facebook, as I've never made an account due to some big personal reasons. I could at least try to figure out instagram, if that's a thing, but I wouldn't know where to start.

ETA:
Now that I think about it, what are some of your favorite places to shop for new stuff too. ^^ There's so many options out there (haha, I think I feel overwhelmed).

I'm not anti social media..  I just dont do Facebook for something WYP.

Is it JUST Facebook or are there other places?

I still occassionaly find decent second-hand clothes on eBay from time to time. Mostly 2nd hand is found on FB these days but also a little bit on IG, more new sales on IG. I adore Etsy for new stuff.

What I assume is there are multiple groups and you can search in them. But how do I know what is a good group? I assume there are private groups, or groups you need an invite to. I don't have any doll friends to ask...

I assume there is no accountability or feedback systems because facebook marketplace was more so geared toward in person pick ups? Is that right?

I used Facebook for all of three minutes before ducking out, but I can offer insight on the feedback system.
Each group seems to do feedback differently. Although the marketplace is geared towards in-person pickups, you do not need to post through there in order to sell. I made one sale on FB but I just posted that I had a pony for sale with a price in the group, and the person Paypal'd the money with nothing else from FB.
When I joined the group, they asked me to provide a photo (I used a picture of Twilight, anything went) and made an album for feedback. The person left feedback on me in the form of a comment on the photo I had chosen for myself.
I guess sort of like joining another forum, unless there are discussions between groups there is no way to weed out bad traders?

oh, that's helpful... so there potential for feedback.

I was thinking... that it was kind of like craigslist in a way. where people just posted their ad, then deleted when done. But nothing much more than that.

and private messaging is ok? you don't have to make a comment on the post? (Like on forums)

Yep, that's what Messenger is for! If you operate mostly on your phone, you'll have to download the app  for private messages. It's built in to facebook on the desktop site though.

Now I've never done anything through FB but I have through Instagram and it's basically similar to doing it here through messages. The main thing is, since there's not really a feedback system maybe stick with goods and services through PayPal so if they don't deliver you at least have buyer protection. Just like you would do here with someone who might not have any feedback.
