Question about fakies
« on: May 26, 2022, 02:53:49 AM »
In the "fakies" world I always thought there were two categories.. those who have original pony molds but are inspired by MLP and those who have the exact same molds as the real MLPs...

So I was always wondering.. how the heck do those other small companies get the same molds from the real Mlps?

They probably just recast them themselves. :) I imagine that the factories that put out authentic ponies may have the molds swiped, but I think it's more common for toys to be recast.

Yep, recasting!  This famous girl all started from a Seaflower.  Depending on which variation one has, you can actually see little seashells in the plastic where she had been cast with her original paint on her!
