Trying to remember a childhood book
« on: January 25, 2012, 10:25:54 AM »
Here's hoping someone can shed some light on this. :3
When I was a kid, one of my favourite books was a big fantasy collection; various stories about dragons, dwarves & fairies etc. The front cover was beige, designed to look like a suitcase, if I remember correctly.
A couple of the illustrations really stick out in my mind. One was a unicorn flying through the night sky with a basket on its back, scattering tiny glowing people out onto a clifftop.
There was also a family of dragons, & the father was captured by a wizard & forced to do labour & escort him places. I also recall a scene from Gulliver's Travels with tiny people floating in bubbles, & towards the end, there was a huge battle between various races.
I know this is a shot in the dark, but do any of these memories ring a bell to anyone? I'd love to track down this book again. Thanks in advance.  :)

Hope you find it!
If you have no joy here in the end,, this site
http://www.loganberrybooks.com/stump.html
is good for finding things like that, for $2 if you are really stuck you can post your description, however vague, and people can reply (for free) with their ideas. Great site for any booklovers, I've rediscovered a load of long forgotten childhood books reading through this site!

If it is that, then Amazon might have them http://www.amazon.com/Trip-Woodland-suitcase-stories-games/dp/2921171457
