Title: What toy puppy would most resemble this character?
Post by: LadyMoondancer on September 01, 2016, 10:56:49 AM
Heeeey guys, my roommate is trying to find a toy dog or puppy to represent "Buster", Thundercracker's puppy in the IDW Transformers comic book.

What is more classic than the bond between a Decepticon and his dog?  :P

Anyway, the toy will have to be fairly small to be in scale with Thundercracker's toy.  Like, I think the current Littlest Pet Shop dogs would be too large.  But vintage LPS might work, or Puppy in My Pocket?

Appearance-wise, Buster is medium brown with black or dark brown on her face, white legs, and a white or pale chest.  She has floppy ears like a boxer or labrador.

The most important things are the medium brown color and the flopped ears, since the legs could be painted white later or whatnot.

I would def say Puppy in my pocket would be best for this! There is an LPS dog in a similar pose, but he looks less scruffy than this dog. I think no matter what you'll need to paint it, but both would work :)

This will help for a puppy ID:

I'm thinking a Puppy in my Pocket  Boxer.  You may also try and see if schleich or safari ltd. has boxer pups in their line up. Thundercracker and Buster are so cute!

What about Applejack's dog? That would probably be the right size (though it's probably a bit rare)...

Totally found the perfect one!  I searched for puggle figure/puggle figurine on ebay and found these two cuties! They're about 1.5 in tall according to the descriptions. I think they look pretty darn close.
