Basic toothpaste is also awesome for getting rid of rust on those weights in sea ponies (like it works for tail rust on normal ponies), but I'm glad your pony wasn't all rusty - most are pretty bad!!   I would definitely recommend oxyclean/Vanish oxyaction or similar to make sure there are no nasties growing in there as well. The nail polish is new to me, but sounds like a good idea :bigups:  if the weight is really bad you can try and sand off the rust after cleaning, or if it's beyond salvaging then using a marble like it suggested on the restoration site is also a good idea.
Ooh the sea pony shown on that site with the bad rust, the nasty weight inside and then the after pic - those pictures are mine, and I'm credited on there for them  heehee I forgot about that!! she was a good example of how a reeeally bad condition sea pony can still clean up nice  ^.^  :lovey:

Pony Corral / Re: Twinkle Eye Question
« on: April 09, 2024, 03:34:06 AM »
I actually think it can be pretty random though they tend to be harder plastic more often. I have a massive army of the Gingerbread pose (it's my fave)  as well as the rest of the set of TE's in other poses but only some of mine are rock hard and some are more squishy  :awake:

(Gingerbread pose is also Ringlets pose of course. Slightly OT but it was originally a female pose and still is to me, it was only used as a male pose in the UK at the very end of G1 around the mid 90's for Sportstime and the last lot of Daddy ponies. Before the Mountain Boys and Big Brothers there were no adult "male" ponies officially as toys and all the official males had feathered hooves apart from baby Lucky and baby Clipper. The boys have always been hard plastic but the ponies in my fave pose are not all hard, some of my Ringlets army for example are quite soft. Just saying  )

Pony Corral / Re: Flocking: Yay or Nay?
« on: April 09, 2024, 03:14:22 AM »
Yay! really I like both :lovey: I prefer to keep them as they are and if there are both fuzzy and nekkid versions (Shady for example.. oops bad name choice for an example :lmao: )  then I get one of each
..but if the flocking is reeeally dodgy (as in totally unfixable with some good cleaning and already rubbed off really badly) then I've de-flocked a few as well. I'll usually leave flocking on where possible.

Pony Corral / Re: Did G5 flop?
« on: April 06, 2024, 04:26:54 AM »
I'd say flop for sure. The thing is  ..well in my case I'd never stopped loving ponies since G1 and always got the new gens (even if it took me a while to accept G2 and G3.5  ^^;  ) . I've always been a bit of a pony addict (understatement!! :P )  but G5 was sooo bad it put me off right away, I've taken a long pony hiatus (  :yikes: )  and to this day I haven't been able to even make myself try out buying even one single G5. They're just  too *shudder* weird for me?  they creep me out (sorry to anyone reading this who loves them   )  and of course the quality and variety had gone downhill before the end of G4.
I rarely see anything G5 where I live now, just the same old ones that have been shelf warming for ages and only a few when they were first released really.  I'm sure there are plenty of other people who had the same feelings about them as I did and started to spend money on other collections instead as well. The Basic Fun G1 are the only "new" ponies I've bought in years
Hasbro really messed up IMHO.

Pony Corral / Re: What is going on with G1 sales?

There’s a seller from Europe that’s listing shipping to the USA for one pony is $100. $100!  One pony!  And I don’t even think it’s insured.
*faint* seriously? I used to joke about that years ago but even with the insane stuff happening now with shipping prices I still didn't thing the $100 shipping for one pony thing would ever be real :yikes:
*is reaaally out of the loop*

That's frustrating :(  Maybe something happened in real life so that's why they didn't reply yet, but they have been here since then and communication is so important. If I were you I'd send them another message with "Urgent Please Reply" in the title , and put a time on it- say 48 hours..3 days.. to get a response if you're feeling generous then maybe a week (personally I usually give my buyers 4 days).  If the potential buyer doesn't respond in that time then put the ponies back up for sale. I know it's a pain but it's no good if they aren't even keeping in touch with you at this point  :awake:

Pony Corral / Re: Is having an army of ponies selfish? let's discuss
« on: December 28, 2019, 05:23:13 AM »
I don't think it's selfish to have a pony army - actually I have pony armies in my own collection and they make me happy. I like to see other collectors pony armies too  :lovey: If you can afford it and it makes you happy and it's not hurting someone else then why not?  :relaxed:
The only times it could become a bit selfish is if someone goes to the shop and buys up the whole lot of one new HTF pony -not because they like armies but just to brag or sell on for profit, or they buy multiples of certain rare older ponies not because they actually like them but just to deliberately try and make others jealous.
Otherwise I see no problem with armies at all. Some people have specific character armies that aren't all multiples but one of each variant of that character especially when it comes to the more HTF ones, but most pony armies are of common ponies . Other people have a fave pose army (so for example I have a G1 fave pose army - the BnG Ringlets pose - usually called the Gingerbread pose. Not everyone likes it but it's my fave. Most of my ponies in that army are common but some are more rare -but I only have one of the rarer ones in my fave pose army- so for example one Spanish gingerbread, one Brazil Twist- and then I have multiple common ponies ) :awake:

Hmm I'm pretty sure I don't have this one so I voted for "want" ;)   I like her better than Merry Treats

We're all different though so personally I see this and I'm like "that's the new design for MLP?  " :dropjaw:  :faint:  :yikes:  Nope. Sooo much nope :bolt:  Sorry

« on: October 22, 2019, 03:04:07 AM »
I would say it's a package unless its not very thick :awake: :)
What are you shipping? A pony/toy: it's a package.  A book/stickers/something pretty flat: an envelope

I voted Swirlabout (not keen on the name but I love the actual pony).  I would buy the whole set though - they're all pretty  :lovey:

Pony Corral / Re: Chucky Cheese Baby
« on: October 19, 2019, 02:48:56 AM »
Being from the UK I didn't know she existed until I spotted her in other people's pics here. She's been in my collection for years now and I wouldn't change her. I like that she is unique with the symbol. Also love her hair/body colouring :lovey: . I didn't like to call her Chuck E Cheese though- my friend Glacia (on here) suggested baby CeeCee so that's what I've always called her instead  :satisfied:

BTW I reckon if you don't like the symbol then try and find one with a damaged symbol, rather than getting a good one and removing it ;)

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Resolved - ebay refunded me
« on: October 18, 2019, 04:29:13 AM »
Thanks for letting us know :bigups: I'm glad you got your money back now - hopefully you'll be able to buy the pony from a more reliable seller soon too

Thanks for sharing your advice/experience   :bigups:
I've  never found ebay helpful whenever I've been on holiday so I've always ended up cancelling all listings until I got back , because you can guarantee that something will sell as soon as you're away  :awake:
