I collect Sonic the Hedgehog merch selectively, older American Girl items, Calico Critters, Pokemon plush and some Nintendo things. But I'm actually working on selling most my G4 collection in favor of G1s/G3s especially the mane 6 stuff.

I recently visited my Macy's TRU and it was mostly very common toys. No Basic Fun Ponies  Hopefully they will get some for Christmas. There wasn't much character stuff in general and it's quite small.

Basic Fun is amazing. Seriously so sweet of them. I can't wait to see the next waves release. Hope I can find them, since Target won't carry them. My craft stores usually do though!  Something to look forward to.

I have a few older ones that were out 3 years ago but haven't seen these. I wouldn't buy them most likely as I'd only want AJ and Celestia plus I feel bad pouring out the water but it tastes very bad to me. Mlpmerch hasn't been reporting the little G4 merch out now.

You said my thoughts with this set perfectly. The worst packaging besides oversized 10x bigger then the contents is gimmicky messy packaging. I bought one a few months ago and I'm STILL finding confetti! And I still have the box. I never throw boxes away but I normally am not forced to open them. I love the ponies but the gimmick is not appreciated, Hasbro! I never liked this kind of stuff even as a kid. Especially anything gross or messy.
I'm glad you found the items and I'm sorry this set is such a pain.

I keep the names for real MLP ponies but name fakies, especially Remcos. Usually after a G4 pony they look like or just a fitting name for them that sounds like an actual pony name

I know you guys are talking about purchasing physical copies for your collections, but if you just want to watch them for now, there’s a TV/phone app called Tubi that has both the original series and Tales for free. It has ads but not very many. I don’t know anything about whether they are cut or not though…
I may try Tubi on my Roku, I'm just concerned about the ads. I really can't stand dirty ads and really just want to watch it without ads, as Tubi isn't exactly a kids only thing you can't be sure the ads are clean. Hulu used to have horrible ads watching kids shows, turned my stomach. Wish Netflix had more 80s series Post Merge: August 10, 2021, 01:17:41 PMAh, is that much much the original series dvds go for?  I really want it on dvd since it's one of my favorite cartoons, but I guess that's not going to happen anytime soon...
BTW, does anyone know if it ever got a region 2 release?
It was like $25-35 on Amazon but they ran out. Now the only one is priced $130 on eBay and they surely won't take the hundred off. 2 weeks ago it sold $20 on Mercari Shout Factory probably stopped printing them. Just bad timing I guess. Not sure about region 2 though, I haven't seen one myself.

I believe the Rhino set is only the first season, so it is missing several episodes. The Shout Factory is the Complete Series and has all the episodes. Both sets have Rescue at Midnight Castle and Escape from Katrina (though they are probably the cut versions).
That's too bad I was hoping I could get the Rhino version as the Shout Factory one is going over $100 for some reason. I honestly can't justify more then $35 on it. They can never make it easy :/

Are either of these uncut? The Rhino set is more affordable right now but I don't know if it really has the entire show. Don't need the Special and Escape Katrina uncut as I have the original VHS. Thank you!

I'm both disappointed and interested in G5. I won't be buying any of the merch or watching it. It's just everything I don't like in a nutshell, I don't like 3D things at all especially when they look so Disney. I'm taking the time to focus on collecting and re-watching/reading all G1 through G4 have to offer. Truly makes me miss G3 honestly.

I'm so sorry this happened. These ornaments are not cheap, I considered buying her myself and don't think I will now. I'd definitely return and have others photos ready to show them everyone is getting a broken one. They really should of never sent them out this way. I'll have to see if the display ornament in my store is broken. If it is I'll take a photo of it if that helps. It's just sad to see this be let go and shipped out

Bon Bon, who I absolutely treasure. Might even get more of the Tales ponies. I really wish they were released in the US.
