Experienced BJD owners, please help?
« on: February 19, 2012, 07:21:13 PM »
Hi guys, I know this is cheating..But I'm wanting to give a moxie teenz a new life that is in sad shape..But I have a few problems. One, can someone please help me figure out what size with the moxie teenz take? Also, she needs new eyes..So, can someone please help me with finding out what size they would be, where I can get them, and also if you have any suggestions on tutorials for replaceing the eyes in a doll like this, I would greatly appreciate it..The poor girl needs some love lol
Also, does anyone know if this doll is similar enough in size to wear ellowyne or delilah noir clothing or is she too small?

14mm :)

the final position of the eyes in this tutorial is horrible, but it shows you how to do it, and posing should just be how you roll the eyes in the head:

Thank you! Would you happen to know, I see that people say most of the time a size 6-7 wig will fit, but some places measure their wigs in mm..Do you have any idea what that would transfer into mm wise? Thank you for the eye links btw! <3

I actually replaced eyes in a Moxie teen girl.
What i did was a lot more difficult than maybe it could have been, but i would like to warn you that moxie teenz have a plastic coating around the back of the eyes set in place in the inside of their heads.

I cut along the crown line and basically had to melt the plastic holding the eyes in to get them out from the back...
If you just leave the crown off you can still get wigs on the head without putting it back on so it is not really any trouble that way.

WAIT before you do that... This is what i recommend doing first:

I would heat up the head like you would a MH girl for popping her head off her body, and then trying to pop them out by squeezing the head. I have heard that this works and i haven't tried it yet, but i definitely will next time around.
Then you can just heat up the head and pop the eyes back into place if they are the right size

I haven't tried it out, but that is my suggestion so you do not have to completely destroy the inside.

wig size generally is starts at # - stretches to #
so an 8-9  starts at 8in circumference but can stretch to about 9in

so measure around the dolls head and see how big it is :) and then whatever it falls between is what you need

I think if it's CM, all you're going ot need to do is convert to inches
