Title: what got you into MH?
Post by: AnnaPommes on November 02, 2012, 02:25:27 AM
well, i keep looking at MH dolls, customs and "americas next top monster" from time to time.
it´s like wandering around the toy isle, seeing all the merch and dolls, but then leave them again. i´m not sure if i could really like them or not,

what got you into MH?

i heard about episodes(webisodes?) someone can watch online, is there a specific site for them?
and there already soo manyy character! O.O i don´t know which i should look closer to.

which was your first and who is your favorite character and why?

also, customs is what got me into ponycollecting. i´ve seen some remarkable MH customs already, but are there already MH-custom-tutorials out there? do one have to reroot the full head or are wigs an option too?

also i am not sure which characters i would like the best, i likes ghost-like girls so far, from the main cast it was lagoona. ^^but i think there aber more characters out there to like!

what still bugs me a bit about them is how thin they are, and that they all wearing absolute high heels. (or am i wrong? i don´t know them all!)
are there some dolls with flatter feet and a bit more chubby characters? especially girls?

the idea of mixing myths with students is awesome, i love that!

Seeing Ponylady's beautiful Mad Science Lagoona which was/ maybe still is, her DP :)

That and watching ANTM Cycle 1 with all of Tuney's beautiful dolls, seeing his wolf pack, looking though Ravie's Flickr photos, I loved them all, and both of them are so creative, huge fan!

My fave character is Lagoona, always has been, but clawdeen is my other favourite.

Nefera has a longer and bigger busted torso as she is Cleo's older sister, she is *so far* the only girl with a larger torso.
There are no 'big' girls, they are all very skinny. I think all the girls wear either high heels or wedges, I can't think off the top of my head of any girls in flats.

As for rehairing, ravie is the pro, she could probably tell you more about it than I can.
As for tutorials, try DeviantArt, I found a great tutorial for customising MH dolls there, I only wanted to rehair a stripe of colour in my dollies hair :)

If you like the webisodes, youtube is your main place to watch them :) monsterhighwiki shows all the episodes that have been and will take place :)

As for boys, they're amazing, most common is probably GB Jackson, that excludes the create a monster vamp boy and gargoyle boy set that are relatively easy to find and quite reasonably priced. Most expensive is Gil, he retails for 60$+. :)

Hope I've been a help!

Looking at these forums got me into Monster High. My first dolls were the Create A Monster witch/cat set. My second was Draculaura as Snow Bite. After watching some of the episodes Abby Bominable is my favorite because I can relate to her personality and she is just so darn cute and funny.
I just search for the videos or look on youtube. There is also a show that comes on Nick.
There are some tutorials out there for customizing and making clothes etc. You can do reroot or wig. I do not know too much about reroots, but I've made two wigs for my create a monsters and enjoyed that.
I'm pretty new at customizing M.H. so I hope you can find some more help on the forums. There is a lot of information here which has helped me very much.
Crabgrass, the lunch lady and the headmistress are different than the main girl characters, but other than that I am not sure.
Their weight or feet do not really concern me

I resisted MH for the first year.  I loved the fashions but $20 seemed like so much money to spend on a doll.  Then I saw Mad Science Lagoona in TRU one day and knew I'd eventually cave.  And boy did I!

Mandy had an avatar from the webisode when they first came out (even before the dolls first hit the shelves) and with a little searching I found out all about the series and became instantly hooked. So I blame Mandy. :P

I got into G4 MLPs through the Friendship is Magic show, and I started photographing them and posting them on Flickr, and I made contacts with other people who were doing it too and a bunch of them (like picklepud) also photographed MH dolls. They started to grow on me the more I saw them on Flickr.

The b&w Skull Shores Frankie and Nefera were my first two dolls. Frankie was originally my favorite, but I've got so many of them now, and I only collect the ones I like, so it would be too hard to pick a favorite now. I will say that I find some of them to be more inspiring in terms of photo ideas than others. Also, for what it's worth, I have more Frankies and Lagoonas than any other character (four each at the moment, although I will soon have five Frankies). I also have two Ghoulias and two Lalas, but otherwise I just have one of each character (and not even all of them at that).

Ultimately it was the Arena/Tuney's Cycle 1 of ANTM that did it /shakes fist.

But the whole tl;dr story of it GOES LIKE THIS~!

I was slightly interested in the dolls when they first started to come out and were flooding Walmarts. But I was a stubborn little girl and was all "Aw, the Vampire girl is cute... but I'm like 20, I don't like dolls. I didn't even like them when I was a kid!" and passed. And passed, and passed.

Then I got into ponies, joined here and lurked around a bit and saw the first cycle of ANTM and was completely and utterly and drawn in, but not enough to pull the trigger. Saw a Toralei at my Walmart during a shopping trip and nearly got her as I really liked the doll and never saw dolls at that Walmart... but I put her down in favor of us getting more food (despite my fiance harping at me that we would still be fine financially had I gotten her). Yeah, regretted that. >_____>;

I finally grabbed her off of eBay and started watching the shorts when I got her. And the rest is history. They don't stop multiplying~

The first time I saw them my husband and I were in toys looking at everything with our daughter and stopped by MH and both said "how cool are those?!". Then that Christmas my mother in law bought my daughter a Frankie doll and after that I started looking at the MH stuff in the Dollhouse and from there went and bought my first (and second) dolls... now nearly 70 later I can't stop!

I love the idea behind the Monster dolls! I like horror movies, myths and stories. But I also like girly things and fashion. When I was a child I loved Barbie dolls. So when I saw MH dolls I just couldn´t resist. At first I was only slightly interested. But looking at these forums and other collectors blogs really got me into MH. And finally I bought one: SS Draculaura (my avatar). And now I have 11. And more to come!

First my favorite dolls were Cleo and Choulia. Then my favorite doll was my cute Draculaura and now it is Rochelle. But from the episodes my favorites are Cleo, Abbey and Draculaura.

It was all of you!!!  I followed Tuney's first season of Arena's Next Top Monster like a crazy peron:).  After seeing how beautiful these girls are in pictures, I literally fell in love.

There are so many stunningly beautiful pictures here.  I'm totally blown away by you all.

I loved these dolls right from the begining, but I was slow to start collecting. I bought my first doll, signature Frankie, around Christmas of 2010. I remember seeing the dolls in the display cases and thinking she was so cute, and of course I scoured all my local stores for months before finally finding her. It seems like that first christmas season Mattell had no idea how popular the dolls would be - it was much worse than things are now, there was literally not a single thing on the shelves anywhere.

I kept staring at Dead Riding Hood...she is just so cool! And then on a flea market adventure, I found a signature Lagoona for $1. Now I have 6 dolls I think? Maybe 7... I am keeping the collection of dolls to a maximum of 10 at any given time, but I am a clothes and shoes nut! :)

I got into Monster High because of my daughter who is know 7   about a year ago she asked for a doll for Christmas and coming from a child who used to have nightmares about vampires...asking for a vampire doll was a huge thing so I had to find out what was the fuss about.....  and um...yeah, it snowballed from there.

you asked about custom tutorials- I've been slowly amassing links and printing stuff, collecting supplies, prepping bodies etc here in downtime. (like I have downtime!) I can't seem to find many of my links, but if you search on tumblr, and deviantart in particular for Monster High custom tutorial you should come up with some pretty good ones.  The one I'm most fascinated with at the moment because of her pictures of the step by step process is NoNaptime- here's the link to her tutorials :)  http://www.nonaptime.com/category/tutorial/

Vivcore's Dolly Daydream also does good picture guides :) http://www.vivcore.com/dolly_daydream/tutorials.html  Vivcore also has the distinction of being the one who has caused massive internet stir by making the Sweet 1600 and Ghouls Rule Ghoulias that many people thought were real Mattel releases and in making the Slow Moe that I want want want :)

My husband and I were out of town a few years back for our anniversary and prior to Monster High I had a huge sweet spot for My Little Ponies.  We were in TRU looking down the isles and saw these Monster High dolls, I thought they were so cute and unique.  This was way back when wave 1 originally dropped and there were no promos or anything to really promote them, I ended up walking out the door with the wave 1 Lagoona. <3 I originally intended to be a MIB collector but then the beds came out and that broke me, so now I collect loose ones for my table to display & MIB.  It gets expensive when brand new dolls are released though since they get bought in doubles.  @_@

I first discovered/ became interested in Monster High from that Draculaua/3.5 Pinkie Pie custom from forever ago. It amused me to no end, and I wanted to customize a doll. So VincentVJ and I used a $10 Kolh's cash and grabbed a GB Cleo for $4. My first actual doll was Cleo 2.0, because she looked so pretty, and my friend Mel saw Lagoona with her adorable freckles, so I said I'll get Cleo if you get Lagoona. A year later... and there are too many.

I got into MH when an online friend stumbled on them via the TRU website, I think in late 2009, and ordered 'em. Turned out, they were up perhaps six months too early, and TRU cancelled most orders, but she got hers and shared the photos on Barbie and other doll sites. I was instantly hooked, and couldn't wait for the summer '10 scheduled release. They were so new and unique ! But I honestly believed they were new heads on Barbie bodies, so they could partake of the huge shoe and clothes collections I had for my then-large herd of Barbie-scale dolls.

Soon, the website was up and the buzz was getting louder, and somehow...I just 'knew'. Since we're a one-vehicle family, I asked Beloved Hubby to check the TRUs for me one day (website had nothin'), and on June 18, he brought home DracuLaura (from the big TRU), Lagoona, and Frankie (from the local TRU) as my early birthday presents. I was in heaven !

But the doll I really wanted - Ghoulia ! - wasn't out yet. I loved her studious nature and autistic tendencies, especially since our son was diagnosed Asperger's, and the more I learn about it, the more I think he got it from me. In the meantime, Clawdeen, Cleo and Deuce joined their friends, and I soon had my Ghoulia...and Holt ! It got a little nutz after that, but I don't regret a bit of it.

Yeah, their thin little bodies and platform high-heels bug me a bit, but I look at their faces and forget, every time. It helps that I can sew darn near anything I want to for them, and I tend to favor the more classic shoe styles over the trendy, so that makes them seem less extreme, ya know ? A classic FM pump and a sleek, well-tailored dress brings out the best of any body type !

While I love to look at customs and enjoy the artistry, most of mine are left stock, save for the occasional boil perm and almost constant re-dressing. I rerooted Barbies 'cause they were boring, something I've not had issue with in MH yet ! While I'd love some chub, the only different bodies for the girl-ghouls are Nefera's - taller, bigger feet - and Howleen -  slightly smaller, including feet. All the ghouls are on their toes - I'd love some ankle-joints here, too ! All the guys, except perhaps HooDude, share the same body. On the plus side, it means that they can almost all share clothes, but on the negative, it's a bit limiting.

My poor, much-reduced Barbie collection is gathering dust, while I sew for the MH crew nearly every day. It's odd, and I haven't quite figured it out yet, but I'm enjoying the ride !

I got into MH because I saw all the beautiful pictures from everyone here on the arena. I started watching all the webisodes and then I bought Rochelle ^.^ After her, I got Abbey and now I'm up to 12 dolls.

I think it was Wardah that made the original post about these dolls at the Arena. :) Before then, I hadn't heard that they were in the works but I was sold on the concept art alone. Once owner photos of the actual dolls started marking their way out, I began stalking my stores and scouring the web to find out more information about them. I bought Frankie the first time I saw these on shelves and then went back for the rest of the original six (Draculaura, Clawdeen, Lagoona, Cleo, and Deuce) later in the week. I was hooked!

My late father was big into Universal's Monsters, and other monsters and cryptids in general, when I was growing up and he would always teach me about them. I also had a lot of male friends as a child who loved UM's and can remember playing with Frankenstein and The Wolf Man toys alongside my more girly toys like MLP, so I have some very fond memories with what these dolls represent. I would have killed for toys like these as a kid.

Admittedly, I had no real interest in the MH characters themselves or the personalities that Mattel had intended for them at first. I was mainly invested in the dolls, so I avoided the webisodes and books. The diaries finally sucked me into their world however, and I began watching the webisodes, which I found incredibly cheesy at the time, but they soon won me over. I loved all the horror references they'd sneak in here and there and I liked that they made an effort to make the characters a bit more relatable to teens rather than trying to be preachy.

As more and more items began making their way out, I started keeping a checklist on my computer so I could keep track of them all. As the fandom in the Arena began to grow and more people began asking about what was out, I decided to share it here in case anyone else needed a place where everything was just listed in one easy place. I still have fun working on it in my free time today. It gives me something to keep me connected to MH in the slow months and it helps me to narrow down what I want for my own collection.

When I first got into Monster High, I had no idea the franchise was going to take off the way it did, though I foresee myself sticking with it for a long time. Despite a few setbacks here and there, I've never wavered in my fondness for these dolls, and I 'm always looking forward to new releases and my next purchase, which is something I wish I could say for other lines I've collected in the past.

Mandy had an avatar from the webisode when they first came out (even before the dolls first hit the shelves) and with a little searching I found out all about the series and became instantly hooked. So I blame Mandy. :P

Score!  ;) Do you remember which avatar it was? I know I'm one of those people that changes them like the wind.

Tuney's pictures of course. Saw a thread of his girls in homemade dresses and wanted a Ghoulia.
Told myself, it's okay because she's nerdy and a zombie.

And ended up with WAY more later.

I have always loved toys, but as an adult was too afraid to buy any. I was firdt enamored with MH when they first came out and I saw them in store. I looked at them online all the time ever since then. After watching FiM, I decided I was going to collect MLP's and as soon as that started, it was all downhill. I figured "Hey, if I can have a pony collection and it be acceptable, why not have an EVERY TOY I LIKE collection" lol The next month, on my birthday, I got my first pony and my first MH doll from my mom. I almost cried that she would support me in my decision to be a child again. And ever since then, toys have brought me great joy again. Not so much to wallet, though.

I kept seeing ads pestering me for my attention on other websites.  They were ads promoting the brand.  It was before the dolls were released (or maybe it was before I was aware there were dolls) and the ads had epic art.  I love the drawings of the characters, and the idea behind the line.  I also loved that everyone had their own color and skullette.  They had backround stories, likes and dislikes, NAMES!  This was something I wasn't used to, having grown up with ten blonde dolls, all named Barbie :yucky:

I found the arena doing image searches for the dolls.  Picklepud's photos helped seal the deal for me.  (Really miss him )

Nov. 2010, I had a choice to make.  Do I or don't I?  I knew if I had one, I'd have to have THEM ALL.  So I put them on my X-Mas list.  My Mother-in-law spent Black Friday that year hunting down Clawdeen.  Said she didn't even shop Black Friday for her own children when they were little   She was telling all the other mothers there, her 30 year old daughter-in-law HAD to have these dolls:)  She's the best!  So that year for X-Mas I got the original 6 plus Ghoulia and Holt.  Best Christmas ever:)

I blame my cousins daughter..yep I said it..Its all her fault lol. I first saw them the Christmas before last that is when my cousins daughter had got a couple and I was looking them over and thinking "man these are pretty cool" and finally caved in a year later and started collecting. I would have started sooner and wish I had, but I was also collecting ponies at the time and couldn't afford both. So now my pony addiction is put on hold for my monster addiction. Because when you buy one you will buy more, Oh yes you will buy more ...cackles evilly...
My favs are Ghoulia and Lagoona, although I have to say they all will grow on you for some reason or another like you may like their fashion style or they have a odd quirk about them. I like how even if it is the same doll (lets say Lagoona) each release she is different weather it is her hair, make up, ect. No two Lagoonas look exactly alike and I love that! I also like how they brought the original monsters back, just made them "cooler" so the younger generations will like them but it still gives a nod to the originals. Then of course once I got into them I started paying attention to ANTM, and I am up to date on the web episodes (such a geek I am) and getting to talk to everyone here that likes them which is cool as well. It is always nice to know that you are not alone in your addiction .
I am noticing more tutorials staring to pop up here for MH customs and I figure the more people get into it and do them the more we will see of the tutorials.

I started collecting MH in '10 because of this blog post: http://crystal-avalanche.com/?p=1448 and secretly coveted them at the time and was absolutely broke and living in a shoebox. My finance bought the then 6(?) basics for me for my b-day and promised me that I would only collect the signatures, and the rest is history ('cept I've bought B&W Frankie and Cupid...shh don't tell him).

I discovered MH in May 2011 when I was doing my usual ebay browsing for vintage Disney Princess dolls (been collecting them for ages), and I thought I'd search for fantasy/goth dolls to see what was currently available. Boom, there was the cutest little pink vampire doll with black pigtails and a parasol and a bat for a pet! I was in love! I'd always wished there were dolls like MH, as I love spooky-cute things  ^.^

So I spent maybe a day deciding if I could afford to collect them (the answer was no, but that didn't matter *cough*) and then ran to Walmart and lo and behold, there was my desired wave 1 Draculaura and a wave 1 Clawdeen who I also fell in love with on the spot. I bought them both (cleaning out the MH shelf by doing so XD) and then a week later, at a different Walmart, saw the rest of the wave 1s, and got Frankie and Ghoulia.  :)

I was really lucky I learned about MH when I did because that was just the tail end of wave 1 being available--all the next wave (School's Out etc) started to show up within a month or two. The first doll I seriously hunted for was Spectra and I found her in July 2011.

Then things spiralled completely out of control  Now I have 50+ monsters! (I haven't counted in a while, I'm afraid to )

My favourite now is Rochelle, but Lala and Spectra will always be very dear to me

I loved reading everyone's stories! Yay MH fandom :grouphug:

Being a designer and toy-nut, I heard about Mattel's new line on a blog way before release. I've never been a fan of barbie or dolls in general.. not even as a child. But I've always loved monsterssssss.. and also the combo of creepy&cute. xD
So I was looking forward to this line a lot and Mattel still gets a lot of props from me for really doing it and I'm especially happy that they're so successful with them. :)
The dolls are well made for toys, the webisodes and movies are cute and I love looking at the vector-box-art, too.

So when the first wave hit I bought a Frankie Stein to support them and b/c she was my favourite back when. And for the longest time I thought she'd remain my only doll. (YEAH RIGHT....)
Well, she even did! .. for a year or so, since G4 ponies kicked in and kept me busy.. but then G4-ponies started to bore and annoy me more and more with all their exclusives and fast paced releases and 1000000 different lines and yaddayadda. Around that time MH released Spectra and I just love ghosts so much.. and with her clear limbs she was just SO AWESOME. So back in love with MH dolls I was.

Nowadays they're the only recent toyline I kind of collect (I try not to have *that* many dolls, I still have a lot..) and the main reason I still come here. xD;

My favourite Ghoul is no longer Frankie, but Clawdeen and Abbey and yes, I get what you mean about the heels. xD
Them being thin does not bother me, but the heels sometimes do. I mean, even Ghoulia as a nerd wears heeled sneakers. xD But I guess they're just too lazy to change the mold of the feet/legs and they would not fit in flats the way they are. I don't even realize it that much anymore.. you get used to it fast. ;)

wow!!  thank you all for so much feedback!
it´s great to hear all the stories, especially how you get your first dolls! >u< makes me very enthousiastic. (sp?)

yes, the photographs and ANTM makes a lot, i guess i´ll look into the webisodes in my next break today. :D

about the bodies, this may sound stupid, but has anyone tried to "obitsu" them? i know, obistsus have relatively boring bodies in comparison to HM extra features, but the quite long and thin torso scares me a bit. may be connected to, that i recently have some art-nude-drawing-lessons and try to learn how the average female body actually looks like, but maybe i really would get used to it. (but somehow, a bit chubby looks more comfortable to me XD )
annd, yes, the heeled sneakers irritated me too. XD
they make mold-differences in the hands very often, i guess lagoona has different lower legs with fins too, right? so maybe thats just the image of the brand. ^^"

i really like kalmas hands and feet, as i like sculpting anatomy too.
and i just looked the name kalma up. XD poor girl! it´s cool, but that people die if they smell her? i guess our MH-girl wouldn´t have that problem, right? and after all, they are always children of the mythologic characters, right?

oh, aand are there black MH girlies?
are thier face molds different? abbey for example looks a bit different, or is that just the print?

The werewolves are the closet to black characters in MH, and all have broader noses and darker skin, with each one actually getting their own shade which makes me happy because a lot of toys go for the generic skin, and they're all brown shades. Each girl except Cupid (she shares Ghoulia's narrow face) does actually have her own face mold though, and Abbey definitely has a broad face, which I find charming.

And I know that the thin is irkitating, but really, I don't know of a lot of people who would buy their kids a "fat" doll (anything not really skinny seems to be fat lately). What I will say is that their breasts are smaller, in proportion to their skinny bodies- baggy shirts make them vanish it feels like- and their asses and hips are wider than their chests like real womens. And my faavorite part is their feet- they have toes! All five of them, beautifully defined and visible, and the broadest part of their feet is right there around their toes, just like real people.
Weirdest part of their anatomy is the pregnant back, but now I barely even notice it because it's just how the girls are shaped.

I love everything about their bodies   I love just holding them.  They feel good, nice and balanced in weight.  I love the thin limbs, danity wrists, fingers.  All the joints:)  Anything different from the Barbies of my childhood, who all looked the same, from the blue eyes to the blonde hair.  You would think SOMEONE would buy me a brunette somewhere along the way

I think I'd like them to be in high heels forever, than in flats forever.  I had a few tennis shoes for my Barbies when I was kid, and it bothered me to no end that she walked on her toes in them!  At least they aren't pulling that kind of thing.

I do love the fact that they don't feel like 'token' characters either. And I think Robecca counts too? I mean her skin is such a lovely shade too!

I would totally buy a fat doll. But...only if they did it right. A chubbier doll? OH HECK YES I would too.

I was intrigued by the dolls when I was still in college...so it was when the news broke at the 2010 toyfair, feb 2010? I don't quite remember the exact moment. I loved the artwork and styles. It was such a unique idea and the dolls and art were really amazing. I saw the fisrt webisode and I was hooked. I got the entire signature set and wanted more...sadly since I have no room I've been good and only got 6 more. But I want to buy them all! So much regret of not getting them. ;p one day!

Abbey.... XD I'm a winter freak and I loved her the instant I saw her. Now I am getting her and Rochelle... and I am waiting for a Draculaura to customize into one of my OCs

I took a peek  into the dollhouse forum about a year ago, got curious what the whole monster high fad was and saw the thread about all the releases.
I had to have spectra, I hunted for her and after finding the lone one on the shelf that was it.  I know have over 30 dolls, and looking to get more!

I've been lurking in the MH discussion threads here since the dolls first came out. Back then I really wanted Draculaura and Lagoona, but I couldn't bring myself to commit to another collection since at the time, ponies were taking all my money. I still watched the webisodes and the specials and looked at pics of the dolls, but I didn't buy my first one until about six weeks ago. I went to the Wal-Mart that's a bit farther from my house than the one I normally shop at to look for blind bags and I happened to spot Signature Draculaura. I ended up going home with her. Since then, I've picked up sig Rochelle & Spectra, DDG Spectra, SS Lagoona & DT Ghoulia. I've spent more on MH now in the past 6 weeks than I have on MLP in the past six months. At least there's not tons of new MLP stuff I want. With all the main six re-releases, I guess I picked a pretty good time to get into MH.

ookayyy, i blame you all!!
i found myself browing on ebay for bait-dolls, when i saw clawdeen as little red riding hood.
i mean, what? thats super cute! >o<

but seriously, anyone has a baity MH for customizing left?
preferably the wolves, cats, gargoyle, kalma, abbey or robecca? can be nude and without hair, just the joint should all work fine. ;)
the point about clothes to let them look lesser thin sounds like a good plan. i still would loove a chubby doll, but i don´t see that coming soon. u.u"
and the shoes, maybe i get around that too. the detailed hands and toes are a good pro!

do the dolls stand on thier own, anyway? i saw stands but it looks like they don´t need one.

are the rumors right that there is a unicorn too? i need to research more about that!
and why do harbro sells DYS-dolls without a torso?!? O_O

well, currently, i am totally up to tradefor a bait or red riding hood clawdeen, just click my signature to see what i could offer. >o< whee,..

i blame you ALLL! mwahahaha!

thanks guys ;)

Just a short heads up: Little Dead Riding Hood Clawdeen is currently for sale at german REAL for 24.99. :>
She's totally one of my favorites, too!

No, they do not stand on their own. But if you sit them down or lean them against whatever, they hold up fine. Some people also glue them to surfaces for taking pictures. That way they are also able stand up w/o a stand. :)

There is a unicorn, but only as a CAM and the horn is a headpiece. There is also a custom supplier for MH dolls that delivers resin horns in custom colors and two different sizes that you can fix on to their heads permanently. :)

..as to why they sell CAMs with missing pieces.... We all have no idea! xD
Most likely b/c the original plan was for kids to own multiple sets and mix-and-match a new monster every couple of days. :)

ohh, i guess at first, it´s a good thing, we have no REAL-store nearby. *-*

the facts about the CAM are a bit disillusioning (ger=ernüchternd). i just went throght the sales forum and contacted a few people, i´ll let coincidence decide wich doll will be customized first. ^^

i really have a heart for red riding hood, even if i could get another clawdeen, i´ll sew her the costume by myself, duh!

are they selling the CAMsets in germany too, after all? never saw them in the shops. o.O

Aww.. REAL is my first stop whenever I go dolly-hunting. they're usually stocked very well. :)

Yeah.. Making CAMs can be tough at times. I still haven't finished my first and I have parts for several.. Have had them for ages. But that's just the thing: I have PARTS. :P
Well at least for the first wave of CAMs Mattel has since released matching bodies and upper limbs. :> (bee, triclops, skeleton, sea monster, ...)

They are available in Germany, wherever they sell MH dolls. But they are PRICEY! About €30 for the large sets and €20 for each add-on. So buying from the US or eBay might be a wise choice. :>

Have you checked eBay for Little Dead Riding Hood? I know she gets listed by private sellers every once in a while. There should even be some listings by private sellers active right now. :)
