Pkw, you have definitely seen Thai Thundercloud as you helped persuade me to buy him at one Ponycon! I paid £470 for him a few years back. He is far from mint, but I felt that was offset by having him in hand straight away/no postage/etc

My understanding is that the were made by the company that made the Vennie ponies for Hasbro, but AFTER they lost the license. They are pretty cool! Price does vary depending on which one. I have one on the packaging (a Tootsie, obviously  ) but I cannot for the life of me find a picture! I'm sure I have one somewhere? *edit* Took me way longer to find it than it should have! visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I'm fairly sure Babydoll's one is also real - I still have the original photo from the ebay auction saved. It was an unmarked auction on ebay UK and the seller had a bunch of ponies up but knew little about them.
Sadly the run of fakes way back has made it difficult to tell with these gals :/

Not sure how many there are actually overall, but I don't think we know of as many as 20-30. I think it might me more in the 10-20 mark? There aren't huge numbers.

I am under the impression that Peru pony heads are typically unglued (all mine have been also), so that would make me lean towards rehair of some kind as well :/

I have the two pictures, but not in as good condition. I think I paid around $25-30 each a number of years ago. As mentioned above, they don't come up that often (though there are a few around), but also not that popular.
(I may be interested in upgrading mine!)

There is ONE variant doll known- it is Blinky (who usually has pink pigtails) who comes with BLUE curly hair like Whimzee instead. I THINK I discovered the first one (back when ebay was new) on the UK ebay. Since then, she has popped up several more times, which makes me think that some country somewhere must have released a batch of them this way. Pretty clearly a factory mistake- (or possibly they were made at the end of the series when Hasbro ran out of pink hair and just used blue to use up the leftovers- they did something like that with various Jem dolls so why not MOondreamers?)
There are some pictures of her on the now defunct moondust4moondreamers- site- (not my site but I donated the pictures SO long ago). It was so long ago that I actually got those pictures with a SCANNER (yes that is how we did it back then kids, lol)

I actually had the variant one from new (my only Moondreamer doll, lol). I can't remember the packaging, but she was definitely sold as Blinky, as that confused me no end in the comics. I do still have her and most of the bits she came with if not all. Row!!!! Good to see you around again, even if it is because you're selling up. I remember when you got your Greek Medley! Greeks do fluctuate quite a lot these days, however she is still pretty sought after. She's so pretty  Ebay can be awkward for selling sometimes. Here is always a good place to start, and some people have success on Facebook as well.
