We have a 3D tv.  Apparently, a lot of the smart vs come with it nowadays.  :).  Ours is a LG.

It's a fun feature to play with but the feature only really works on certain shows and movies.  I wouldn't have paid extra for it but since you can turn it off and on I think it is a heat thing to gave.  It looked really cool when watching Transformers.  :)

Ours came with 4 pairs of glasses.  Plus the Disney 3D DVDs are pretty cool.

They were doing demos of them at Sears and Walmart and I looked through the glasses and experienced it.  I was wowed but I wouldn't go out and buy one.  I don't feel the need to have to have special glasses to watch TV.

I get dizzy and nauseous in theaters, I really dislike it, so I would never consider buying a 3D TV.
Good luck on finding the one that fits your needs! :)

3D gives me a headache. The only time it didn't was with the new Tron, because it was very subtle. My other complaint, is that they tell your eyes where to look. You can't take in the scenery during a conversation because it's out of focus and looks better when looking dead center.

However, kids love the 3D, and if I didn't have the headache problems I would love 3D movies a lot more. Most 3D movies come with the basic version as well, so if someone comes over and doesn't enjoy 3D you can always pop in the regular movie. It's all about what you prefer and how much you watch tv if the extra cost is worth it. They are fun to show off!
