Oh no! They Changed Daiquri Ice?! DH Alt Rehair /Custom Problem W/Pic

Is anyone here doing a custom with Daiquiri Ice?
It's that frost blue from Dollyhair that matched a couple G3s. I think it's really beautiful and wanted to use it for a couple of customs.

I wanted to start with something simple though, an alt-rehair of Princess Sarena.
So I put the mane in. But, this was the time of 'not as consistent dollyhair' , so the hank ran out on her mane without enough to do the tail. It was then sold out for a while, and I had to simply put the pony away, unfinished. Whenever they restocked, it came back in, so of course this color was on my order. I got it, made the tail & installed it but...look

The tail is clearly different.
What do I do?
Is it very bothersome? I kind of think so but may be over-reacting?
Does anyone have OLD D.Ice?
Does it look annoying enough to try and trade someone on here for a tail made with the old stuff?
I doubt anyone even has an old hank

If you're making a custom with it, beware of the problem or your pony won't match

I don't know what happened to it. But I wanted to post something so others wouldn't hit this situation with something they can't fix (like a mane or trying to do something really complicated)

I believe it changed several years ago....and most of us have used all our "old" :/ this complaint seems to come up often though as the site still says it matches stuff it doesn't. you can certainly contact Tina about it

Hmm yeah daiquiri ice is a soft minty blue now. The mane looks like maybe arctic frost would be a closer match. The only daiquari i have on hand is the new stuff =( love the monotone look btw!

And idea: if the mane isnt glued in you might be able to blend the two together? Maybe pull out a few chunks to donate to the tail? The two combed together would be gorgeous!

I noticed this too. I get a new order from dollyhair and some colors looks different compared with my older colors...

Yep, I've seen the change as well, the texture is a bit different also

If it were me I would go back and blend the new into the old, depending on how monochrome vs. other sea-greens, aquas etc. you want to add and then do the same blend for the tail

I did similar as I love those colors

so I second the suggestion of a combining of those two :-)

The old daiquiri ice was one of my favorite colours and I have had folks sell me their old stock over the past couple of years; it's funny, it didn't change overnight; I have two partial hanks of the old, both with different shades and neither matching the new. I also tried to contact Tina (this was a couple of years ago now) and she eventually left me hanging without a response. Very disappointing. 

  That said, I agree that blending the different colours would prolly be your best option at this point. I would just add plugs to your girls mane and mix the two shades. Maybe someone can provide you with a bit of the older stuff to mix with her tail, too?

I prefer the new one for that pony as its more matchy. But I always wanted an alt hair Bluebell with the old fashioned Daiquiri Ice colour. Guess that won't be happening now!

I think it looks like a cool variation, but I can see why you would want a match. I hope someone can help you out.

I remember the change from a few years ago.. I think another user brought it up and mentioned it to Tina. If I recall correctly, that was a newer batch the company she gets the hair from sent her. So I don't think at the start she honestly knew it had changed. I like both of those shades but if DI is supposed to be a match for a pony with bluer hair color then the new color is no longer a match and the site needs to be updated...

BTW...All bags from new order are ripped while opening...Happened this to you too?
