I'm usually quite good with removing my plugs but I am not immune to snapping them and cursing like a docker.
This is a brilliant idea Sara, no more static heads!!

True dat! I just majorly undersold a Celestia bait because I'd accidentally snapped the plug ;_; Your test run looks awesome ^_____^

I have yet to break one *knocks on wood* however if it did happen I'd have to try something  like this.. though I wonder if one could melt down Blind Bag plastic to do so... only parts that were cut from customing BBs though

Resin is pretty hard.  It will score if you work really hard at it with a pair of pliers but I haven't had breakage problems with my tests yet at least.  ^^

As far as the mold I just got the cheapest one, the sculpey brand molding clay.  It was like $6.

MnDancer that is good advise! Sometimes I think I just give em too much elbow grease.

luxrayx where are you, maybe you can volunteer to test one for me.

Looks like overall production cost will make them about 50 cents each to make.

That is really interesting about using bait plastic.  Does it melt in that fashion?

I just had this feeling, it just went through my body, an inner voice saying SQUEE
And i think it echoed through Snowcatcher too.

I'm not sure, I got the idea from a friend... she melted down doll combs (or something like that) before to turn into something else. Someone else mentioned about using bits of the neck right from mlps to fill in some hairline holes on a similar fakie dog that I need to work on soon... so I figured maybe one could melt down BB pony parts that have been chopped off the ponies (I think most people just chop the manes and tails XD) I might make a mock mold of something and give it a test with the BB plastic and let you know

That would be awesome! I'd love to see your experiments.  Especially because I would be interested in sculpting a vintage style boy blind bag and if it could be cast with actual plastic I think I would do it.  lol

Thank you for the volunteers everyone, I think I have all I need.  Once I get some more plugs  made/sanded I will let you guys know for sure. :) I want to test them myself a bit first to see if its worth sending them out.

I think this would be a great resource, personally I just glue the heads back on but I know a lot of people like being able to pose the head. I should have some neck plugs laying around if you need a few more for molds? Im pretty carful about taking them out, knowing I'll just give them away for someone who might need them xD so they're pretty clean. Let me know if you want them and I'll hunt them down for ya.

Thanks truevampiress! I am expecting one in the mail, but I don't have one from a celestia so I don't know if those plugs are the same or not.  *never customized one of that size* I know the fashion size have regular neck plugs like g3 but I wasn't sure about some of the other molds.  If I break/have trouble with these styling ones I have I will definitely drop you a line!

Awesome! I'd be happy to return it or send you one of the copies to to replace it if you want. :) But if you don't happen to customize one that's cool too.  They cost more so unless it's for something specific I doubt I will.
