So I got Bridal Beauty in the post, and I put a new toy in my animals cage. Immediately, the younger one was on it and investigating/nibbling ...

... she's broken a string of thick beads off it already  I'm not mad, toys are made to be broken, it's just funny how quickly she did it!

What kind of animals? :) I had a super smart gerbil who could take apart puzzle toys in minutes.

What's made me smile is just being home and getting some decent sleep. My cat is also very happy to be home.

Birds!! She pulled all the bead strings off by 5pm

I took a chance on ordering thread online to use for shading on my Vulpix cross-stitch ... and I think it's a good match! Can't wait to see properly Sunday!

Not my pic, but here's the explanation:
On the sharky server there are some people who believe all sharks eat seals, & there are others who believe only a few sharks eat seals, & our beloved sharkies are not among them. The former are known as Seal Villains. A rumour was started about one of the server mods having lost a seal. The mod was ok at first, but then the teasing got a bit out of hand, or fin, so the mod became upset. Hence elaborate plan by several other server members, me included. Main seal villain posted a pic of an open window & DM'ed me about sending a package with a seal in it to the mod. I, in turn, sent the mod a secret message through chat, in a simple way (the first letter of each post I made with text in it was to be noted down & after enough would form the message), telling him about a seal escaping from villains. We waited & waited & tracked this package right to the mod's door, then it finally arrived!!! The mod posted a photo story of the package & the seal arriving to safety!!! It's now lore in the server!!!

I ordered a resin wax seal handle, one that has blue flowers in it. I was tempted before but at 50% off?? I just had to!

I found a book that I wanted at Walmart. :D  I was surprised to see it there because it's manga and the Walmart I was at today is usually horrible about books and rarely has this series in stock.  I was more than a little surprised to find it on the shelf.

So, last week the rail company that runs an essentially pathetic service between here and London decided to cut it completely. I mentioned it on the trivial complaints.

They've since been whipped by our MPs and the local council leader, and they've reversed the decision within days.

This is a subject on which our MP and the one across in the county town are like rabid dogs. They've both actively fought for this rail link for years, and the rail company didn't know what was coming. I don't think it's over yet, but it made me smile to think that they're not letting this company treat us like we don't matter.

Hopefully the second, and more useful train is returned to us soon. They took it off 2 years ago because of COVID, maybe if the MPs and the council chief get more angry, they'll fix that situation.

...Still no weekend service returned atm, but it's progress in the right direction.

I don't always agree with my MP, politically, but he is a very effective local advocate. Also I think he wants to use the train himself :P
