Honestly the comb could have just fallen into th box or got swept up when they were packing up the display. Maybe they are working to flutters and this was a early mock up that happened to be near the ponies that they use for shows

I contacted the UK PR people for Basic Fun who said the Unicorn / Pegasus set would be coming to the UK "later this year." :)

That’s excellent news!

This is my thought also.  I’m hoping that this display isn’t everything that they have planned for this year.  The UK seems to be behind the US in distribution so I’m hoping there will be more to the display for the NYTF.  I guess we will find out in 2 weeks....

Zooming in on the comb / pick, these are my opinions on it:

1.  It's vintage;  there is a bit of a warp between the near edge of it and the first tooth.

2.  It's the flower pick mold used with the flutter ponies.

3.  But it's not an ACTUAL flutter pony pick, as the center of the flowers aren't painted.   The flower pick was used for a lot of ponies other than the flutters, with no paint.

It could be they are using this flower pick to remold the accessory (if they want to make the flutters or another set).  Or it could be a random G1 accessory they had lying around.  Or it could be they're thinking of doing another pony that came with a flower pick.

I couldn’t help but look this up.  Assuming that they are going to stick with a US based lineup then other possibilities are the Perfume Puffs, the Family sets and the Summer Wings.

I still feel like Flutters are the most likely to come next just based on that pick but I could also see the Family sets as something they might do.  Especially knowing that they have been hearing all about how much we want both boys and babies.

No new ponies in my neck of the woods here in Georgia except the unscented rainbows.  So I bought another Moonstone so I have her blue instead(or I guess as well as) her sickly green scented version.  Just her though.  I can't keep doing this multiple thing.

It's also possible the comb came in a lot . . . I assume they got Trickles, Pinwheel etc off eBay.  (I mean the "original" ones, so they could study them to create the new ponies.)

But I would love it if they did recreate the flutters, they're some of my favorites. :)

I thought I posted it in this thread but maybe it was the out now and coming soon one, but I had the information that June was a likely time for the next wave of ponies in the UK. What I can't know for sure is if that means the rainbows as well (like this time when we had the 2 sets together) or whether that will be later. But anyhow, if I didn't post it in this thread, I meant to :).

The 3 packs and 5 pack and parlour are due here in Feb/March.

But that is just one store's timeline. Just, I feel it's a credible source.

Thanks for doing the legwork to confirm it with Basic Fun as well LM <3 It helps to have it from both supplier and stockist :D

It will be weird to walk into a store and see them. I mean, I've waited since, like, 1984, 1985 for Glory and Medley, and the idea of them being in stores NOW is just...kind of boggling to my mind xD.

Tactic to get more Wave 4 Ponies at  YOUR Target store - Talked to the toy section employee at my location (Smoky Point, WA) he said, "There are a lot more boxes in the back. The only way to get the next sets to come to the store is if everyone bought these," he brought out a long stack of Wave 1 Original Six ponies and laid them out on an empty product counter.

Then I told him this, "Collectors will rescue damaged or slightly overly played ponies and make them into customs. This way the mint to near mint condition ponies that are left, their value in price goes up over time. Same can happen for the retro remakes of Wave 1. If everyone buys them of the overstock and make customs, the Wave 4 will come in quicker."

We all have an assignment. Go out there, if you can financially, and buy two of each Mane Six Retro Wave 1 ponies. Let's bring Wave 4 into the stores!

If only I had the money and space to do that.  I'd buy every single one of them.  There are only two collector's ponies there any way.  They keep getting passed up for the newer ones.

That makes sense that they would want to sell out old stock before new stock, but unless they clearance out the wave 1 I don't think I can justify spending...$10 on a pony I can get in ruined condition to customize for less.
I might snag some wave 3 stuff if it's still out there to jumpstart wave 4 here. I know a lot of people are looking for wave 3.
Has everyone who wanted the scented rainbows found them?

I just checked an hour ago my local target has a set of the scented rainbows and the Pegasus&unicorns. I haven't seen the collector ones for quite some time, if I knew any kids I'd buy extra for them but I've already bought one of each so for

UK folks!

I just received my Amazon delivery of the Pretty Parlour!

Box seems smaller than I remember first time round (I was only a kid though!)

Not opening it yet as it will be a birthday gift  (next month) for my little girl - she has always wanted one and now I can gift her her very own, new G1 pony playset!  :frolic: :frolic: :frolic:
