Trademark Database - Look for Ponies!

Al-1701 got me thinking about searching Hasbro's trademarks so I looked and found that Yep! You can search Trademarks!

Hasbro appears to have 1236 "LIVE" trademarks and 3661 dead ones, including POGO BAL!

Note the current Trademark of GUSTY belongs to a television weather news program.  So it looks like they lost that one.

Rainbow Dash was last registered in 9/2002.  Daisy Jo and Sunny Daze are recents.  2010/2011??  Daisy Jo???? G4!!!

"CUTIE MARK" is Trademarked!

Try searching for some G1s!

Look at this... "TWILIGHT SPARKLE" was filed as a TM after the show had been out for 4 months!

Seems that Jem was recently renewed, too. Are we getting a new show and toy line?

I look these up occasionally...if I remember the last time I looked "Applejack" had actually expired as a trademark...

They have new Jem shirts over at WLF so that may be why it's renewed? I'd love it if there was a new show though, that'd be so cool!

It looks like they didn't register a lot of names officially.

Anyway, some favorites I would like to see come back.
Wind Whistler is owned by no one.  That means registering her would be cheap and easy.
Fizzy is owned by two companies currently.  A little more tricky, but I doubt either would squeak about a pony named it.

Hmm, I wonder if it's because it says Apple Jack instead of Applejack! Maybe Hasbro registered the name with the space in it by mistake, so they let it expire. As far as I know, all generations of Applejack (G1, G3 and G4) are a single word, no space.

Speaking of that, do you think Hasbro and the cereal company had to battle it out? lol. Applejack always makes me think of Apple Jacks! (Oh the power of that single letter 's'!)

Hmm, doing a google search. Apparently Applejack is also a strongly alcoholic drink...among other things.

Also, that 'dead' list seriously makes me full of sadness. Some of those are AWESOME pony names that never saw the light of day! I would kill to see Rainbow Falls, Cabana Rain, Tropical Magic and Blushing Blue as ponies!

What a cool find! =) I'm kind of surprised that common words like "Bow Tie", "Cup Cake", "Smitten" and "Rarity" could even be copyrighted. Does anyone know the details as to why?
