I really don't know anything about Comic Con exclusives and have been wondering for quite awhile now...Are these exclusives being sold at all the Comic Cons, or just the San Diego one? I know my boyfriend's going to the CC in Philadelphia this year, and I'm wondering if it's possible that it'll be available there...I apologize again for the probably stupid question! I've been holding onto this small thread of hope for awhile now for Monster High as well :P

Yes, the nerve of the studio, putting a small image on an accessory held by a pony in the background that no one would ever notice unless they were specifically looking for it. Shame on them for trying to show their fans how much they appreciate them.I'm kind of ambivalent on this issue. It's neat that there's so much creative output from the fans, but at the same time, it seems like so many of them take a very uncreative approach to the material, pulling broad generalizations out of minor details, and continuing one another's silly in-jokes long past the point where they were actually funny. In this case, why is it that :muffin: Pony appearing in a whole crowd of ponies that wanted muffins means that she in particular has to be defined by an obsession with muffins? It doesn't make sense to me, and I'm not sure that this kind of thinking is what Hasbro should be making tributes to.
A week later thirteen SDCC showed up on my doorstep. (And yes, I was charged for all of them--even though the credit card confirmation email only came through on ONE of them!!)

Ebay, friends who go to ComicCon, or stalking Hasbro's site a few days after the con just in case you can nab one.

It is. And when Hasbro unveiled the new G4 toys two years ago they told us that even though there was a new line/generation of toys they would continue to utilize the G3 mold for art ponies and exclusives. A lot of people have been collecting the G3 art/exclusives for a while now, so to me it seems like such a slap in the face for hasbro to cave to the pressure of these new fans and go back on what they told their long-time collectors.
Smart business sense? Yes. Understandable? Yes. But it's still disappointing to me.
Actually they said that when everyone was panicking about G3.5s. And it wasn't like they said the would keep using G3's until the end of time just for the time being. Anyways there is still the Fair pony. While SDCC might be more of an event for media fans the Fair is still for collectors.They also said it when they unveiled the G4s at the 2010 fair, and the way they said it very much sounded like they intended the G3s as exclusives to be an ongoing thing.

I don't think she'd have a name. Comic Con ponies usually don't. :P They're just called Comic Con pony or like in 2009 Evil or Good. So she'd be...Bubbles with ..A muffin pony!Bubble bun? Muffin pop? Well, by not naming her we have the option to name her what we prefer, a very smart move. :)

As for the ones sold after the first few waves, they seem to be the final product with the smaller eyes like all the other FS ponies. ..I will name her Bubblecup! ;A;/Ooh, if someone collects factory variants the larger-eyed ones might be valuable someday! You can't fake BIGGER eyes, after all; it's not like wiping off a symbol and calling your pony a "mysterious blank flank".

I honestly know "almost" nothing about this particular character. I have been collecting one of each single and Fashion Style pony from the G4 line. I keep trying to "get it" but I just fall short. :( I just can't fall in love with these like I did with G1s and G3s. So now I need to decide if I will add this one to the pony room or save for an nice nirvana instead. I have a feeling that they will all be sold out at the Con and there won't be any left for online sales. That may make up my mind for me.

I'm quite happy they've decided to make a :muffin: Pony toy, but saying that G3 should stay out of Comic Con is quite offending to the collectors of older generations.

This is VERY offending to me. "The Bronies" weren't the only ones who "made" :muffin: Pony customs. And how in the world have they improved MLP?
I think there's still a possibility of releasing a :muffin: Pony and something else. Don't they have a contest going on right now to design a Comic-Con pony on their Facebook? I don't think this is going to be the only Comic-Con exclusive pony we see this year.
I think they should have keep the art aspect to it all and created a 'special' pony for the event like they have for all past SDCCs. This one would work as a general release much better and an art type pony would have been allot better for the collectors and I think it would have pleased more people even if it was in a G4 mold. It makes the pony less special to me being a show character instead of an art type pony.
