Title: How many customs have you made?
Post by: Griffin on October 04, 2018, 12:10:06 PM: A small poll just for fun! I'm sure we have a lot of new customizers here, and there are still some oldies sticking around. ;) So I'm interested to know how productive our currently active members are.

How many customs have you made and over what time period (how long have you been customizing MLPs)? Rough estimates are more than welcome if you don't really keep track.

Even in my most active days I never considered myself a productive customizer, around 12 was the maximum number I ever did in one year and now it's been more like zero to one per year. :lol: But I started in 2005 and I was actually surprised when I recently went through my photos, I didn't realise I've made so many! I'm currently at 61, counting the Halloween swap custom not yet revealed (and hoping I didn't accidentally miss any). How about you? :)

Fun stats:
G1 customs: 24
G2: 0
G3: 31
G4: 2
Fakies: 4 (3 in G1 moulds, 1 other)

She looks really messy but it's charming! I do think she looks great with that yarn hair.

I haven't really kept track, but it's between 20 and 40. All G1's, all many, many years ago. I think I have a photo kicking around of some of the babies. Parasol at the back there was my very first.

Most ponies are based on their cartoon appearance.

Let's see here:

G1: 39
G3: 12
G4 brushable: 29
G4 blind bag: 28
G4 other: 5 (Funko and molded hair Hasbro)
Fakie: 1

Currently working on a chatty G4 brushable. It's mostly new territory for me, but so far so good.

I just never buy any pony to customize xD But I must have done over 30, overall. Mostly g3, and g4 a close 2nd. I've made a few g1 customs as well.
I'm itching to do more, though!

Oh please do, I'd love to see your work again! I have recently spent a lot of time browsing my deviantart favourites folder and I keep bumping into your snow ponies, I love them! ^.^

I quite like customizing ponies although I've only done 1 and 1/2 so far.

G1: 0 (I'd love to customize one!)
G2: 1/2 (In process!)
G3: 1
G4: 0 (I'd love to customize one of the large brushables!)

Btw pandabear_chan, do you happen to have a gallery of your customs? :) I remember some of them and kept spotting your threads when I went through the customs forum posts in search of swap ideas, but many of the old image links are broken.

I think we need some new "show me" threads!

At the moment there're 465 pictures on my deviantart account so take about 10 - 15 for being multiple for one custom/ custom group and you have the amount of customs.

if yes, my total since starting might be as well around 60? most of them will be g1, one g2 i made for Alexia (7 years ago?) and maybe about 10 g3? and about 8 g4, i guess, bust most of them are rehairs. ^^

Yes! I always love to see more customs! Maybe we will have more custom swaps this year too. :)

Post by: Loreofyore on January 03, 2019, 05:06:05 AM: Hard to say as I kinda never took my projects seriously, mostly had my fun playing around on fakies and gave them away like with my rag-doll hobby. Always felt I'd be able to make more. Surely was under two dozen and many were my fails. Never wanted to touch the acetone due to my asthma, and with the nerve damage now sewing plastic would take too much out of me given what I feel like after not much sewing with cloth. I still have my last unfinished custom though... Baby Dalmation Ducks was going to be so cute! Healing is so slow and varied that I don't know if she'd be partly bald forever or just for so many more years... guess I'm not ready to give her up, sewing is no fun right now but I can still see her in my mind the way she should look. I guess I keep her just to dream of my finishing.
