The Best Styled Generation

I was just replying to a thread about hair and how straight G1 hair (say on a CP pony) curves so beautifully around the neck when I got to thinking - which pony generation do you think is the best styled when they come out of their boxes?

The only ponies I have taken out of the box are g2s (back in the day) and g4s... but I have to say G1s have such lovely hair! So smooth...

I tend to think I am biased in favour of anything G1...but in this case there is nothing that can compare to perfect bouncy factory curls on a Lickety Split or smooth curve of AppleJack  to when you compare it to the recent "box hair" style of G3 and 4!!!

Definitely G1s!  G3 hair always drove me nuts, since I had to style it out of the box...G1s looked so pretty right away.

I'd have to say G1! Those gorgeous factory curls and the smooth curve of the shorter hair like on AJ and the collector's pose ponies are pretty hard to beat.

G3s have horrible plastic strips sewn into the hair...  not good at all.

i've never opened up a g1 out of it's box, but i like how g1's hair is perfectly straight or curled on the card/in the box without any annoying plastic strips sewn in like in g3 and 4! gotta go with g1!

100% G1 never seen a g1 with crazy box hair... unlike the g3s and g4s...

g1 for sure! I've never had the pleasure of deboxing a g1 though, unfortunately.

I have luck with g4 box hair though, it's just a matter of not fighting with it.

It's true, there's just so much to love about G1 factory curl. Saying that though, I've also had some beautiful straight off card G2's!

I think that some g1 *still* have factory curl after all this time says something about how well they were styled to begin with.  I voted for g1s, all the way.

G1 for sure, love those factory curls. My G3s tended to come out of the box pretty crazy looking.
