Post by: PonyPancake on March 28, 2012, 04:03:41 PM
Oh ebay...
Go onto ebay and search "Mountain Boy Ice Crystal" The BIN price is $2,000  And the starting bid is... $500. WAT. I knew he was rare but is he really THAT rare?

It's Cloud_Weaver's Ice Crystal. He's from Thailand and there is only one that has been found. ;)

Ohh. Derp. I was casually browsing and thought it was the normal Ice Crystal.  :lmao:

Derp question: how is it possible that he is the only one known to exist?  The guy is gorgeous, why is he a lonely only?

I guess not many people from Thailand have realized there's a market for them. There will probably be more eventually just how Greeks and other rare ponies turned up very few at a time until people in that country realized that there's a very large market out there for rare Nirvanas such as those.

we dont fully know that they were produced in large quantities in thailand, its possible there were a few made for quality control for the factory in thailand but then they decided to go with hongkong..

I own the only thundercloud thats currently been found at the moment, and hes a gorgeous boy! :)

There's quite a few nirvanas that are pretty cheap. :)

Some Nirvanas you can get for under $10 :) But as the scarcity increases, so will the price. The Thai boys are very rare at this point, and not all 6 have been found either. Also, I think Cloud_Weaver's is the first to be auctioned off while being outright labeled as a Thai boy, the others weren't so clearly labeled. :awake:

The difference with someone like this Icey is we are not waiting for the country which manufactured them to start finding and releasing them [like in Venezuela at the moment]...the Thailand Mountain Boys were UK releases they were not sold in Thailand therefore its the people of the UK we need to hope find more of them!

Its going to be an interesting auction - technically he is the first Thailand Mountain Boy correctly labelled as such on the open market...very cool to see what he does sell for

I do adore the forest green stripe much more "masculine" than regular Icey

He's a really gorgeous pony. I can't believe there is only one of them  Someone will be really lucky to own that.
