Off Topic / Re: What do you subscribe to?
« on: April 11, 2020, 07:08:59 AM »
At the moment I am getting Netflix and Vidangel filtering (free this month) and a free course on childhood trauma from this institute of childhood development https://child.tcu.edu/sale/

We usually get a month subscription of something, hulu/prime/netflix 2-3 times a year. We don't pay for tv, only internet. After we turn off the subscriptions we watch a bunch of our dvds, free channels, youtube, play more video games, and read more. There are a bunch of new services with free trials I haven't tried yet so those might be next to sign up for.

I'll do "walking in a winter wonderland" if I can enter an older piece. :D

Customs / Re: Ever regret customizing a pony?
« on: May 19, 2016, 06:09:19 PM »
I regretted someone else customizing a pony.  I saw these REALLY ugly customs on Ebay years ago that had beads glued all over them (not like all of the gorgeous ones that you ladies make!). One was in Lucky's pose (which is not too common). I felt someone should buy him to re-customize and make him look nice again.

I stopped playing with them when I was 20 I think.  :good:

My sister and I played ponies as young kids then when I got to be around 14 or so the G2 ponies came out and my first grade twin sisters bought some so they could finally play with us. I also had discovered Ebay and found that all the ponies from the few episodes of the old show we had actually existed! So we all (especially me) started collecting all the Big Brother ponies and continued from there. I found the MLPTP and other sites and then G3 came out and the arena started!  I still have all my ponies, some on display.  We kept playing until we went to college and even played some on breaks, until my parents moved and my little sisters' ponies got packed away. My littlest sisters stopped playing with them when we were gone. They were 12-13 years old at that point. None of us has gotten rid of any, one of my sisters had kids and they inherited all her ponies except for a few rare ones she keeps.

Working in the continuity department in those days would have driven anyone crazy!
Was there one?

As a kid I remember noticing the changing color ponies.

I've noticed though that other cartoons from that era are really bad too. Even Bambi I remember a baby racoon disappeared in the final scene where the animals are escaping the fire. I attempted to watch transformers and ninja turtles from the same time and I couldn't even watch them. I don't have nostalgia for those lines that can overcome the bad writing and animation.  ;)

Trader & Shipping Support / Evilbay help question: problem buyer
« on: January 25, 2016, 05:13:34 AM »
My husband was trying to sell some legos and finally got them sold after a non-paying bidder, so annoying. This time though, the buyer paid, but gave my hubby the wrong address and the package was returned to us after a long journey. He now wants us to ship it to a different address. Is there a way we can bill him for the 2nd round of shipping? I don't want to be out $8 for the buyers mistake. Should we just cut our losses and not bother with it. We are still making a small profit, though it will be $8 less. How would Ebay view this situation? I just don't know what the next step should be.

Off Topic / Re: How to adjust to the Arena?
« on: October 31, 2015, 08:18:33 AM »
I started collecting ponies online when I was 16 (I had mine since I was 4). This forum didn't even exist back then, but there was another similar one. I was one of the younger collectors at the time, but I was always treated with kindness. I have a few rare ones (Ones I saved up for as a teen), but no nirvana variants. They are neat, but I am not going to be putting down that kind of money ever. Sure I am an adult now, and I still like my ponies! (Though, I don't actively collect at the moment.) Bronies are not the only adults the like G4. There are plenty of ladies and moms who LOVE the show, we just don't blog/youtube about it or get much media attention. I watch every single episode with my husband. And I love it! Adults are not really that different from their teenage selves, sometimes. Sometimes priorities have to change, but we still have many of the same likes and interests.

Just be yourself, the Nirvana section is ok to look at now and again. Maybe drool over a few ponies, but the fact is most collectors do not own those extra rare ponies. You don't have to feel obsessed over it. There are plenty of cheap ponies that are gorgeous. I remember one collector who would only buy ponies with brown spots or hair cuts because they liked ponies whether or not they were in good condition. My own collecting goal was to get a pony in every pose, but that is not a priority right now.

Pony Corral / Re: Should I keep Rainbow Forest online?

I always thought it would be better to pass a site on to another person instead of deleting it. Maybe someone would be willing to "adopt" your site. So many great fan sites have been taken down because the owner moved to a different stage in life and could no longer keep it up.

I watch HISHE (How it should have ended). Funny and clean animated parodies of movies and games.
Listen to Peter Hollens and the Piano Guys. Great relaxing music, alot of songs from popular movies.
And I am trying to learn Bulgarian so Bulgarianpod101 ;) and I look up songs in Bulgarian too.

Customs / Looking for re-hairing services for pony restoration (US)
« on: September 24, 2015, 01:42:12 PM »
Hi Ladies and Gentlecolts,

I'm looking for someone to do a partial re-hair of a pony. My brother in law bought a pony for my sister for Christmas, but it has a partial mane cut, and wants it restored before then. I think it is a Dancing Butterflies. I am looking for someone to restore her hair. Maybe even curl it to match her original look if possible. Let me know if you restore ponies and could do a partial re-hair. I am willing to pay you for your services and expenses. I'd like to help him out with this for my sister. I think it is the first pony he had bought her. I had one of her childhood ponies restored for her so he knows it is possible. Please let me know what you would charge, and sample of a re-hair you have done.
