I'm dying, sobbing, rolling on the ground, Hasbro. Minty with textured hair, now dragons.
I just can't deal with jointed, skinny ponies... But for these, am I going to break...? I'm already being a hypocrite for loving G2....
Is this... Going to be the end of me....

GUTTED Minty is articulated. I LOVE her new hair, too.  I feel Minty always appears as a "in case of emergency, break glass" character, & they always stick her in multi-packs.

That purse is SO CUTE. 😭 I hate that it looks slightly impractical because oh man... I just adore it. I used to have the stable carry case as a kid but unfortunately had to give up all my pony houses at a certain point.
Will be stalking the listing, intrigued. 👀

I've definitely noticed, too. I don't collect non-brushables or articulated ponies, so I grabbed one of each of the fashion style sizes (except Sprout, his expression weirds me out O.o  ) aaand that's been my entire G5 collection ever since lol. I keep waiting for more announcements of more coming and.... Nada. Radio silence. Unless you count Opaline, which I'd rather not, because her quality looks worse than a McD's toy. (I can *feel* that plastic just by looking at the photos and it makes me shudder lol) I also just saw there's a new set of 3 called "Style of the Day" coming out, (though this was "news" in very early February) with a new character Misty Brightdawn, who I would love to have but why oh why are they articulated. Ponies are chunky & chubby, they just are- and articulating them means they have to slim their appendages down for them to move and it *never* looks right to me. (okay it kinda worked for G2. but I digress) Ironically I think it makes ponies look cheaper and of less quality when they try this. Maybe the, "If it's not broke, don't fix it" mentality? Ponies look good as ponies. Ponies do not look good as action figures or poseable dolls. Because that's not what they are lol. But that's just my opinion. It seems there must be some sort of market for them as the majority of new ponies pumped out seem to be articulated, but I also wonder if that's purely to compete with the booming doll market right now that kind of knocked MLP off its feet. I'm thinking Hasbro went way too all-in for this in the beginning, saw little to no return, and is now trying to quietly fizzle them out. (I honestly really have to wonder what they were truly expecting out of this after the whole G4-ending debacle.) I think what the future holds for MLP lies in nostalgia bait for G1 & G4, maybe even some bits of G3 thrown in like we've been seeing tiny bits of recently. Hasbro just does not have what it takes to keep this line alive, anymore. I'd argue they lost that ability back in G4 but were riding out the coattails of the show as long as they could.

I won't be getting them but think it's super cool for Child's Play/Chucky fans. Hopefully those clothes are nicer quality than they look though. I'd really love to see them do the Evil Dead at some point! Since their hands can pop off, including Ash's swappable hand extensions would be really easy... >.>

 Always love this. And I will forever remember the story of the Munchy with some "treasures" found inside of her. Want her! Always want her. Maybe someday I'll get lucky enough. She'd be a good friend for Portobella.

The doll, herself, is stunning. I also love her shoes! But that dress is.... Somethin' else. It screams "candy shop window" or "wrapping paper" to me, not really Victorian stained glass. The pinks are far too vibrant. Allso I can tell what that fabric feels like just from that picture and I hate it. I thought about getting her to put different clothes on her, but for $90 that's just not going to happen. Especially with the missing gloves. I understand gloves can be hard to do, but it's a $90 collector's doll? Hell they could've even gone the cheap G1 route of the moulded on elbow gloves, at the very least. The cost of these dolls seems to increase with every release, but the quality honestly seems to go down. 🙃 However that is nice if they're finally doing made-to-order so these dolls don't completely sell out in less than a day, but that's still quite the steep price hike. Not to mention the new membership they just rolled out, as well.

Oh my goodness those are too adorable 😍 Though it seems an odd choice to make it 3 individual ponies you can either buy separately, or a 4 pack & include two Fireflies? I would love to nab these if I'm eventually able to!!

Ghoulia also had the worm earrings in a fashion pack, but yeah Moanica got worm earrings as well.
Apparently she sold out in less than 24 hrs.

I cannot wrap my mind around this design choice, personally. I'm glad some others seem to like it so far. Very glad I didn't jump on the membership blindly.

I'm pretty peeved about it, because it will not help curb bot scalping as they claim. From what I've heard from the Barbie members of the same program, and it does not guarantee you're able to purchase from them, many, many people still end up having items sold out while they're checking out. From the MH FAQ, even: "Am I guaranteed the chance to purchase each version of the member-exclusive items?
Since all items offered as member exclusives are limited in the quantities produced (excluding made-to-order items), we can’t guarantee every member will be able to purchase each of the items. Your membership does include access to a priority window for select sales that gives members the opportunity to purchase items on Mattel Creations before non-members. So that, on top of the fact that these dolls usually sell out in minutes, and also the fact I've found almost all of them very cheap looking/seeming, (including HC, and omg do not get me started on that Valentine's "Collector's" pack.) this is a very hard no for me. Not going to pay Mattel more money to keep screwing me, lol. I do not have high hopes for the Ghoulia doll. I love that it'd be Ghoulia, but gatekeeping her behind the membership feels in poort taste- I get they're trying to incentivize people to join, but feels a bit like a rug pull on top of the fact I have a sneaky suspicion she's going to look pretty cheap and half-inspired, too. Maybe I'll eat my words though, I mean, I'd like to- I was totally blown away by Abbey when I thought her doll would be pretty basic, but also that's playline G3, not G1 collector's, and I've been very seldom impressed by the G1 collector's dolls as a whole. I think they had way more potential than they're seeing. So, kinda bummed this is how they'll be moving forward with things as it seems it will cost more to solve nothing; though I would love to eat my words on that as well lol. I'll wait and see from the sidelines how this goes for a while before trying it out. Though a majority of people I saw in another online MH community were complaining in every direction about this, how scummy it is, etc, but then ending the post with, "But of course I still bought it anyway because I'm afraid I'll miss out even if I don't like them." Which of course people are entitled to spend their money as they please, but all that does is fuel this very practice they hate & complain is scummy. I don't get it. Also, why they wouldn't make all orders made-to-order instead of these mad-grab drops of a few hundred is beyond me.
