Did someone say yaaaaaaarn?I *JUST* got into doing puffy yarn hairs, but want a whole series. It does work on G3, in my opinion. But I also like it, to a limited degree, on G1 also. Like, I wouldn't rehair everything this way, but where it fits, it really seems to fit. I think G3 is a good candidate for yarn too, because it can 'liven up' and 'refresh' a character quickly, and the yarn texture really makes it highly different than just say...an alt hair. Valentines Pinkie:After I complained 100 times about 'too many pinkies', I had to go and do this. on me I guess. She had 100% nasty frizzed up hair at a flea find, but her symbols are all really great. I loved the heart balloons too, she 'felt' different enough to do this, so I picked up on the lavender (her original colors were 3 pinks, I think) from the hearts and went to town with yarn. Also: pearls!visitors can't see pics , please register or loginCottoncandy Cloud:Nasty discolored Starshine with symbol rust/fading galore & no hair. Her symbol is a pearlescent white cloud but the camera hated it. Soft yarn and bows makes this candy-like. But she's huge now! I always wanted a really cottoncandy themed pony.visitors can't see pics , please register or loginDolly Lickety SplitNo hair and pink marker scribble. I wanted a 'old fashion soft doll' look, so she has pompoms, ribbon, buttons and 'soft' accessories for the doll style yarn.visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThe button was cool because I found a clear button in the street, took it, and nail polished it into a glittering button. She got some extra bows too.I've got more baits I want to work with too, and am in the process of adding a yarn to one of my army ponies. (I have several armies so...) I would like to see your G3s also when they are finished!
Yarn reroots are so fun - there are a few artists who really specialize in them! I've only done one myself. visitors can't see pics , please register or login
