Thinking of selling my collection *warning pic heavy*
« on: July 15, 2013, 06:14:44 AM »
Hi, I've not been around for a while and I am thinking of selling my collection.  I have started a new business and that along with general family life has left me no time for my collection or to actively build up my collection.

I have G1 G3 and G4 but am thinking of selling my G1s ( as my daughters do play with the G3 and G4s)

I have included photo's of my collection (around 103 in total).  I'm not sure of the best way to sell them either in a job lot or individually?  I would say the conditions range from at least a good to minty (there are no baits)

I'm not 100% sure it's what I actually want to do but any information, input and advice would be greatly recieved.

Bring on the ponies!

I think you're most likely to get your money's worth by selling them individually, at least for the more sought-after ones. The more common ponies could be sold in small lots, but overall I'd say go for separate sales. You're likely to get the best price through eBay. Good luck, you have a lovely collection there!

It looks like you have many desirable ponies that you won't have too much trouble selling.

I'd only put the ones on eBay that are most desirable/in mint or near mint condition.  Otherwise I'd just list them here.  You will probably get some bites from this post!

Someone else here can probably give you a good idea of which ones are most sought-after these days.

Good luck!
Looking for CF Minty, excellent condition! (and maybe Snuzzle and Blue Belle)

I'm less and less impressed with Ebay myself, so I'd probably just list them here. If you make up a list for each of the pictures you posted, with the name, condition, price, flaws of each pony I'm sure you'll get plenty of buyers. You've got quite a few popular ponies there! I for one would be potentially interested in your Skyflier!  ;)

Just a thought but if you're in the UK, you could always try selling them at ponycon in September? But i would certainly sell them individually and probably start on here before moving on to ebay :)

I would try here first, I hate all the fees that are going on with ebay. I have sold some stuff on there and just cant get over what it all costs me in the end with the ebay fees and pay pal fees. I see so many ponies that I would love to have :)

Individually for the most profit, in lots to get rid of them quick. Like others have said, posting them for sale here would be ideal.

^This - exactly.

As they are G1s I would try individually at first and only if you perhaps have some commons in poor condition then I would group them together into lots.

I would also try the Arena initially with you BIN prices and only move those which dont shift on to ebay - easier buyers to deal with and saving on those fees.

Its such a shame you have decided to sell but opening a new business sounds exciting! :)
