The hubs and I only have cellphones. There's no point in us having a land line, especially since we're not home a lot unless we have a day off and don't have plans. It's so much easier to communicate with everyone.

I kinda miss the old phones.. but it is not cheap to have one here in Finland.

We had ours replaced in the 00's.

Only have my cell phone which is my primary phone, there is no land line. Haven't had a land line in four years and don't miss it.

I've never had a land line in my own home, although my mother has a land line. I've never needed it in all the years I've lived outside of my mother's home. My cell phone works just fine.

Landline is our main, if I could do away with the cell I would but sadly you seem to have to have one these days.  And while we could get a cable service phone which would be a cheaper service, if the hurricanes and north easters we get have taught us anything, you need a land line to be able to make calls with no power around here.   Both companies who offer the phones via cable where worthless during the Sandy outages.  So yeah we keep the land line and use it.  Also have an anwesering machine

I have a land line, no way I am gonna pay $90.00+ a month for a cell phone that I will only use to call family and nothing else.

We're stuck with our landline. Like others we don't get a signal... unless you go across the road or into the loft room. You can just about get a text out in the house but it's unpredictable. I keep forgetting to charge my phone unless I'm going away.

Ahaha it seems the situation is the same no matter where in this area you live then?  I used to live in a village on the very outskirts of Oxfordshire (bit further in now ) where it was worse - I could drop from full signal to 1 bar without even moving my phone! I think these days the spotty service is more down to our provider than the inadequacy of the masts and such. though.

Granted, that is mostly due to my being a HUGE klutz and dropping my cell phone in toilets and mop buckets -repeatedly-.  The fifth time was one time too many...

Haven't had a land line since I moved out on my own 11 years ago.  Haven't needed it, and I am incredibly phone shy.  Haven't really missed my cell phone much, except for being able to contact my family.

Yep but it gets spammed so much with wrong number calls and automated things, that I keep it muted, I only use it as an outgoing line when I'm home since my cell phone is a tracfone that doesnt get the best reception here, it also saves on minuets.

I have both and when we move I have insisted on it too. But I refuse to be one of them people that constantly has their phone out and the land line is more for emergencys as sometimes the signal round me is glitchy

We used to have a land line, but I believe that we got rid of it when my folks went overseas.  They're back now, but they haven't bothered getting a land line, and I doubt they ever will.

I have a cell phone but it doesn't come in at my house so I have to have a land line. I prefer it that way though. I hate phones with a passion, I guess that comes from selling credit cards for a while. Most of the time I want to just throw all phones in the trash.
