Pony Corral / Re: What are you doing with your ponies right now?
« on: June 28, 2021, 01:40:08 AM »
Spoiler
My favourite ponies are on display with the rest of my toy collection, while the others are in boxes which are incredibly fun to riffle through (it's like being a kid with a toy box again!). They spend their time having photos taken (they've discovered Instagram!) and being generally admired. We've also been collecting (and sometimes making!) mini accessories for them.

Gypsy recently acquired a caravan: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQS_ip4g_v_/

And some of the ponies went on an archaeological dig in the back garden: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQLQT04AUAO/

That is lovely! Where did you find that?

It was an eBay find! I saw it and thought 'that is what Gypsy needs in her life!'. It seems to be handmade. I'm in love with it :lovey:

I LOVE that caravan!!! I really want to make one for my Gypsy

Thanks! I hope your Gypsy can get an epic caravan too :)

Are these ponies for sale somewhere? Because they really look like candidates for Shaz's Home for Rescue Ponies....

Pony Corral / Re: Unpopular Pony Opinions
« on: June 10, 2021, 01:44:48 AM »
I think my latest unpopular opinion is that....if I had been a child when G4 was around, I would probably have happily bought multiple versions of the characters and not minded the lack of variety

Back when I was little, I collected beanie babies, and I was obsessed with Amber and Silver the cats. I ended up with about fifteen of each of them (I especially couldn't leave them behind if I saw them second-hand). They all looked slightly different, and I gave them all different names and personalities and accessories. I still have three of each of them on my shelves, because to me they're separate characters and I couldn't choose just one to display.

So if I had seen Applejack with sparkly hair, and Applejack with apples all over, and Applejack with a hairband, I would have been one happy child :) Still, as I have so often been informed, I am quite weird, and I don't suppose Hasbro intends to market towards small weirdos  Bit of a niche market! But that's my confession for today: my name is Shaz, and I like repetition of my favourite things

I love GITD ponies, but the only one I have from this set is Dazzleglow.

Shining Armour is now Groucho Marx pony as far as I'm concerned . He just needs a little cigar accessory....

Pony Corral / Re: Favorite Non-US G1 Pony?
« on: June 08, 2021, 01:43:04 AM »
Most of my favourites are ponies not sold in the US, perhaps because I'm not in the US  ^.^
Bright Eyes (Tales)
Gypsy
Baby Ribbon (Play n Care)
Tornado (and Mountain Boys in general!)
Wind Whistler (Movie Star version)
And of course my favourite Nirvana ponies, Argentinian Bride pony (Novia) and Greek Baby Bluebelle (who actually comes without a name, so I called her Yakinthi, Greek for hyacinth, because English bluebells are a type of hyacinth. Yes, I put too much thought into my pony naming ).

The US has Ribbon, though. Hasbro was very mean not letting us have her too!

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 6/5/2021 Minty
« on: June 05, 2021, 01:29:15 AM »
She's really difficult to find in the UK! I eventually found a very grubby tailless flat-foot version on eBay (I particularly remember it because by totally random coincidence the seller lived in the same town as me!). I'm not sure I've ever seen concave-foot Minty for sale here, at least not from anyone who isn't a collector themselves. It's strange when all the other Collector ponies are so common.

Pony Corral / Re: Amber Ruffin is a MLP fan!!

I love how she remembers all the ponies' names (well, nearly: Apple Dumplings ) and gets so enthusiastic reminiscing about them. That's what ponies are all about :lovey:
Never heard of Amber Ruffin before, but I like her.

Done. I vented my feelings about mental health services and neurological disabilities. I hope it makes a difference.

@Taffeta, I had quite a few questions about disabilities and neurological conditions. Can't remember which options I selected though. I mentioned that health services aren't easy to access for people who struggle with verbal communication - that's a subject close to my heart.

Aw, the mermaid ponies are cute. *whispers* I actually like them more than the sea ponies.

Cocomelon is really cute, I've seen it on YouTube (one of the stranger recommendations that seems to pop up if you watch a lot of cartoons and Disney stuff). I remember a strangely catchy song about a hamster called Jellybean.

Could it be A Torrent of Faces by James Blish and Norman L. Knight? It was first published in 1968, and is set on an overcrowded earth eight hundred years into the future.
It is available on Amazon, but he might have missed it if he was looking for "horde" rather than "torrent".

Sometimes you just need to take a pony for a walk! Lovely photos.
