I agree. Discontinued would be a better description. Most vintage groups don't allow anything made after 1990.

Yes. An item needs to be at least 25 years old to qualify as vintage or antique, and depending on the type of item that number of years can go up / be much longer.

Would say perhaps 20 years as some of the later g1s are only 20-21 years old

I think this term I definitely agree its gets misused for everything. The age of a Antique is 100 years old or older. G1 ponies havent hit that yet. I always thought Antique was about 50 years. Then it turns that I was wrong too.

I really love the people who say things like...

G1 pony missing tail rare vintage bargain!

And the auction is a completely wrecked pony. And the seller says "I don't know her name, but she's rare!"

And price is £20 or something. Or it's a fakie.

...So can't be bothered to do research on naming and identifying your item, can't take into consideration condition, and expect to fleece the collectors with your 'rare' bait pony? Not happening.  Though it happens with MOC as well.

There are still a couple of G1 MOC ponies at $600 each. Been there months...

My pet peeve is G4 stuff appearing in the G1 category, though. There's a whole post 1990 category for that stuff. Seriously. And also when G1 stuff appears with the word 'brony' in the title. Because G1 isn't brony related, and they're just spamming keywords. It's just as bad as calling G3 vintage.

Never understood the use of the word vintage when it applies to ponies on ebay. If it's a g3 and you're putting it in the appropriate section of the MLP (year)list - then why would a person need to use the word vintage anyway? Since the MLP section is split according to year.

There are only 2 sections on ebay for ponies...so there isn't much confusion except for those who don't know anything about ponies.

Same here. I'm an original run ff looking pretty good condition on the outside. A few scratches, foot initial. I might be moldy on the inside from my concussions so not worth much.
