I made a graduation outfit for Rainbow Dash in 2003, when I graduated my first degree. I have photos somewhere but I don't know where they are right now. As a kid I used to make (knit) scarves and legwarmers for the ponies we took out on walks, and I corked neckscarves for a bunch of baby ponies when we used to play with them, but not really since then.

Doll ones, yes. Not so much pony.

Ooo cool!

First off, this thread has Pink Kittywinks's name all over it!!!
Second, though I'm not a dress person, as I'm not a major fan of sewing beyond a few basics, I do make jumpers & capes for my Ponies (though not the g4s yet). So far I've been putting the jumpers on the girls to pair with skirts from an eBay seller, & capes on the boys. I wrote a knitting pattern for the DK yarn jumpers, but it has to be adjusted for thinner & thicker yarns (I don't recommend using thicker yarns on G2s or Babies as it looks bulky on them, however a G3 or G1 adult looks so cosy in one)

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone! I plan on making more and sharing so stay tuned :D

shaiyeh, thanks for the critique I really appreciate it :) I never thought of using elastic to create a ruffled effect, so clever! Also I agree, I think I should be making smaller gathers in the future since these are small pony toys ^^; wish me luck on making a bodice because I know it’ll be challenging but I’m excited to create haha

Sooo I was just curious if anyone makes clothing/ dresses for their mlp. When I checked online, I was surprised that there wasnt very many resources on dress making for ponies as opposed to doll dress making which is disappointing since I just got into sewing and wanted to make some dresses for my toys.

Thanks to mlp fever’s vids on YouTube tho I managed to make some dresses and they turned out adorable  ^.^

Here’s the thread where I posted mine:

If anyone else makes clothing for their mlp, show me some pics I’d love to see : D

recently as I’ve had more free time, I’ve been getting into sewing since that’s always been one of my special interests. I thought it’d be a great idea to try making dresses for my g4 ponies since hasbro never really released any clothing for the g4 ponies as opposed to other gens. after I made two I thought they turned out so cute  ^.^

Looking for any constructive criticism especially from anyone who’s made clothing for their ponies before, next time I’d like to make actual full dresses with not only skirts but also a top bodice part that can fit around the pony’s hind legs which sounds challenging so tips are appreciated from anyone with sewing knowledge!

So I'm not really sure what sub this belongs to but! can anyone help me id this doll? I don't have much info on her other than her limbs were once attached to her body by an elastic (apparently when I was little I pulled her limbs out and really played rough with her ^^;) i think shes made of porcelain?? and stands about 5 inches tall if she had her limbs. anyways id really love to restore her but I'm not sure where I should even start what type of replacement limbs I should even buy, hair, dress, etc. I know i have very little to give but id appreciate any info on her or the manufacturer!

Pony Corral / safe to use heat on sunshine pony hair?
« on: February 13, 2022, 10:44:08 AM »
I have sunshine pony seaflower. her hair is fine except for the pink stripes which are super frizzy at the ends and it bothers me bc I can't display her. I was wondering if it was safe to use heat to defrizz it. would that ruin the color changing properties of her hair? I'm not even sure if it still changes color tbh

thanks for the tips guys :D update on her hair: I put in more conditioner and was actually able to get all the grease out and when I dried it, her waves looked so cute that I decided to leave her the way she was https://imgur.com/a/qBp5ePw
I wanted to do her hair the way it was originally but since I don't have any fat straws that'll have to wait i guess

thanks so much everyone! um I actually put some coconut oil in yesterday in hopes of it softening and washed it out today with conditioner. Her hair is a bit greasy from the oil but so much softer and thankfully she still has some of her beautiful waves. https://imgur.com/a/9kbMeBg
as for the grease, I think im gonna leave her like this for a few days so hopefully when it dries, it'll come out and then I can recurl it like the original style

so I recently bought a g1 streaky and she's loveliest thing ever ,but I noticed that her hair has sort of a dry texture to it, it's still curly and bouncy thankfully. since I don't know so much about g1s, I wanted ask did the rainbow curl ponies have a different hair texture or is it just this one bc of age? or did they have gel? I'd really like for it to be softer before I recurl it. would it be alright to use conditioner? coconut oil? or would that ruin it?

I will never know D: but at least she cleaned up pretty wonderfully:D

^the pink in her hair was a bit on the fizzy side so I curled it out of the way to make it a bit more bearable.

they keep claiming that they have no idea where the yellow ick came from which I find hard to believe but they have agreed on a partial refund. not really how that works so I'll read your thread ;)
