Pony Corral / Re: Have you ever unboxed a MIB G1 pony.... :O
« on: January 22, 2012, 07:01:46 AM »
Sure, we can all go back and say I wish I hadn't opened all those G1 ponies because MAN they'd be worth so much money now. MONEY!! Yes, that's why I collect MLP because they are worth so much wonderful money. Come on yall....money!? :( It makes me really sad to read about money and ponies together as equal value.

If you NEVER opened that G1 My little Pony back in the 80's, would you love ponies as much as you do right now. IF you regret that horrible event of opening that Moondancer, then you are tarnishing all the wonderful fun and love you found in a simple plastic pony.

Never regret opening MLP, it's like regretting you were ever a kid and had an imagination.

There is more to pony collecting that what the plastic is worth, there are great and wonderful memories involved.

And my memories include opening those G1 MIP/MOC ponies.

i personally would never take a G1 out of its package unless its at risk of harming the pony, but i don't have a problem with people who do open them. i have a huge temptation to open certain things, so i can understand the need/want to free the pony from its prison lol

MUWhahaha...

I opened Mimic!

my heart fluttered when i read this, but i think it was mostly out of sheer jealousy that you got to experience the rush from opening her XD and also the excitement at the thought of a fresh mimic being out there in the pony world. XD

Maybe I should add that she was Under $6.00 and purchased from K-mart when I bought her and opened.

I try to purchase 2.

I open one and keep one in box.

If you're talking about those clear ones of Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. I saw them at Toys R Us (In fact I'm pretty sure they still have them at the TRU I go to most often) and I believe another pony collector I know purchased some from a store called 5 below.

The last sale I think was 15% off your order of $75 or more and I also think that included free shipping if I remember rightly. Plus when they have a sale it's a great way to get more for less $$. So I highly recommend signing up for the emails, etc.

I wait alone is one of the dolls I purchased a while back, she was on sale when I bought her. She is amazing in person. If you love the pictures of the dolls online, in person is so much more rewarding. I love the size of the dolls.

I did at one time collect barbie dolls but once I got into Robert Tonner dolls, there just isn't a comparison to the quality in the doll and the quality in the outfits. Tonner is affiliated with Ellowyne.

Some of the other stuff I have is: the outfit Still Life, which is on the doll I have pictured above.

I bought the brunette Essential Ellowyne four.

I also purchased the outfit Ties that Bind - I'm totally in love with this dress, it is so awesome in person. I put that dress on a doll I purchased at a doll show, the doll was Invisible Ink, she was being sold without her outfit. Totally love her hair because it looks two tone and that's hard to see in the online pictures on the website.

Miss Understood is another I bought when she was on sale, the red hair is awesome. I'm not as fond of the outfit, don't like the skirt that much but I love the top, shoes and little jacket.

The other great thing that the dolls come with is really nifty beaded jewelry they come with, and the shoes are so adorable and amazing.

I'm also working on a project to create a outfit for the newest doll I bought the brunette Essential Ellowyne, so If I'm able to get the dress finished I'll upload the pictures :)

Yes, I have a few actually. I have managed to buy them directly from the website and if you keep and eye on the site you can get some great stuff on sale. Plus if you sign up with them they'll send you emails and you can get discounts coupons and discounts on shipping. They will also send you the catalog, which is great to just look at and imagine owning them all :)

Sadly I don't have a ton of pictures online of my Ellowyne dolls, I think I do have some in my camera but I need to upload them, my total on them is around 5 I think. I purchased an outfit and dolls last week actually because they had a sale going on and one of the dresses I really wanted was one of the sale items.

Which one are you thinking of buying? I've sort of just gotten into them really, not a heavy collector but they are all so beautiful and you will not be disappointed as the quality in the dolls are usually very high and the clothing/shoes are all so well made!

I do have pictures online of the very first one I bought:

I watched the video but I kept wondering why do I care what random teenagers think about MLP?
