Twilight G4 Balloon Varients?

I just found and bought a G4 Twilight's Balloon from my local thrift store. It was missing a door, but I had another one at home. When I got home, I realized the balloons were different! The one I got today has the swirls painted and mine doesn't! Also, the plastic colors on the top and bottom are different!

I think the one from the thrift store is older than mine, because it was made better. Are there any other Varients in the g4 toys? I know some Applejacks, Twilights, and Rainbow Dashes have bangs.

TONS of the G4 accessories have different colors (most of the time when the Fashion Style ponies have barrettes, each package has barrettes of a different color). Even some of the animal critters came turn out to be different colors for the same sets (some packages have a brown squirrel, others have an orange one, etc.) But other than that, I didn't notice any varients until now. Interesting find!

I would have suggested maybe the swirls were rubbed off or taken off but since you bought the one with no swirls, it must be on purpose. Or could it be a factory defect? One balloon got through with no paint?

I think they were released without paint first then changed later to have the swirls painted, or the other way around... I've seen both in stores though as well as the variation in the yellow and pink plastic pieces.

Oh wow! I wonder which one I have. I'll have to look when I'm finally able to take things out of storage after we move!

As far as I could tell, most of the balloons did not have the swirls painted on them. Lucky find! It looks so much prettier that way!

I have the one with no swirls painted on but my Twilight has bangs so maybe it's older.

I also have one without swirls, and Twilight has bangs.  I bought mine several months ago at a Tuesday Morning, which is a discount store.

Mine doesn't have swirls either. I bought it on a whim because it was $2 at Savers. lol The one with the painted swirls is very beautiful! If was artistic, I would paint the swirls on mine.

Yeah I found mine new at Ross around last April. Twilight with bangs and Balloon without the swirl painted on. I really like the swirl and always thought mine was a little silly because it didn't have one!

As far as I know (and somebody correct me if I'm wrong), there are 5 versions:
1. pink ruffle and yellow rope
2. yellow ruffle and pink rope
3. yellow ruffle and yellow rope
4. painted swirls, pink ruffle and yellow rope
5. painted swirls, yellow ruffle and pink rope

I bought the one with the yellow top. It has the pink swirls.

My Applejack has bangs and so does my one of my 3 Twilights

And I agree with halicabi, just about every G4 release with accessories has a variation in every colour combination. Basically a set will have a core of 2 or 3 or 4 colours and each accessory will be released in each of those colours with the other accompanying accessories changed to mix it up in the set. Its really confusing!

For example...FS Applejack comes with a rosette, 2 apple barrettes and 2 flower barrettes - her base colours are pink, purple, red and green. She was released with a rosette in pink, a rosette in purple, a rosette in purple and a rosette in green; in each set the barrettes were a different colour so that across 4 releases each barrette came out in each core colour.
