Oh wow Ponyfan! Was the Mickey one fun to put together, or tedious? I'm not sure how I'd feel about all those little 'pixilated' dots. But it's a cool effect! I saw a new one that's coming out soon with Mario riding Yoshi that may have been similar. I also just love that Tranquil Garden set...I'll have to get that one at some point.

It was a little of both.  It was fun, but it also become tedious.  Putting the dots on over and over made my hands hurt a bit after a while.  It's also really hard to take a dot off if you put it in the wrong place and it's not right on the edge of the block. 


I saw the Tranquil Garden at Sam's today, and it was a little cheaper than it is at other stores.

I can imagine those inside dots would be hard to remove. Especially if you have weak fingernails like me.

I'll have to check at Sam's for the Tranquil Garden set! Thanks for the heads up. We just switched back to Sam's Club from Costco, so I can finally go there again!

I use to love playing with Lego, but I gave mine to a family member when I moved. They ended up in a thrift store- I hope it went to some kids or maybe a collector. I think if I ever got back into it, I would really only buy vintage. I love the aesthetics of Fabuland, and 80s Lego. Maybe sacrilegious, I find mega bloks Monster High or Halo much more appealing than most minifigures

I love Megablox sets! I find that they carry some themes, like Pokémon and American Girl, which my kids and I (respectively) are into. I don't know how compatible they are between sets, but I *think* they are.

I was surprised at the price of the Plum Blossom set too.   Maybe Lego is realizing that they're make more money if some of the adult sets are more reasonable priced?  I like the black box Simba, but it's $130.

I still want the Great Wave set, but it never goes on sale in the store.

A lot of people in the Tuxedo Cat group on Facebook got the Lego cat. They are making an orange tabby too but I don't think it's out yet. I would be interested in the Tux cat but my cat doesn't have any white on her face so it doesn't look like her.

I opened the Kingfisher and London skyline and looked at the instruction books.  The Kingfisher is 175 steps and London is 100 steps.
