Pony Corral / Re: ~ Out Now & Coming Soon ~ Update 26 Aug
« on: September 13, 2013, 07:48:09 PM »
Not sure if this has already been mentioned but I didn't see it. There are two ceiling light plushes that are fairly big. One is rainbow dash and one is fluttershy both in a sleeping pose. Their wings are plastic and shine lightening bolts (for RD) and butterflies (FS) on the ceiling. I saw them at TRU tonight but can't find them anywhere online. TRU has it listed but with no pic. They are adorable!

So glad this all worked out for you in the end. That is so frustrating and anxiety-inducing. You handled it VERY well! The real rub of it all is that buyers can take for freak'n every to pay but if a day or two goes by and tracking has been added then many buyers freak out. I once had someone take 10 days to pay (kept in contact the whole time though...) and finally paid on a Tuesday. I usually don't ship until Friday or Saturday and try to end my auctions close to those days. Anyway, they dinged me for slow shipping ha ha. That cracked me up.

Oh wow, so sorry to hear you are going through this. I have had run-ins with this person multiple times over multiple user names. She has a sickness when it comes to ponies. She spends way more than she has, she gets competitive for ponies and I don't think she can control herself. She ends up spending way outside of her means and then tries to quickly sell ponies to recoup costs. Then she regrets selling a pony and quickly tries to find it again and buy it back. I have watched her do this for years and years at the expense of her reputation and other peoples' feelings. She needs help desparately and I wish ebay would shut her down permanently. She doesn't have access to pony sales on here so she gets people she knows to contact board members to try and buy ponies outside the arena. It is horrific. She is like a drug addict with ponies, no joke. It makes me feel sick to my stomach for her as she can't possibly be happy with herself. Everyone do this woman a favor and block her and don't buy from her.

Pony Corral / Re: G3 Market Collapse
« on: October 19, 2012, 11:47:09 AM »
I agree with many of the thoughts here. Having been lucky enough to be collecting ponies since the 80's I see a few things playing out here:

1. the people who played with G3s are not old enough to join the nostalgic collecting mass quite yet

2. G3s did not have a solid enough cartoon that made people really connect to the characters the way G1s and G4s have. I have always thought that was why G2s did not do as well either.

3. I agree with burn out, market flooding, core 7 and the like. That really killed it for me too

4. I do think, even though G3s values have never been over the top, that G4s have something to do with this. Partly because it isn't just the G3s we are seeing it with but also G1s. Having been around a while I remember when G1s were SUPER expensive and now it is much easier to get cheap ones. I mentioned this before but do an auction search with most bids first and look at what dominates--G4s. It used to be G1 nirvanas that dominated followed by UK/Euro exclusives, Mail orders etc. Not anymore. G4s have taken over with a vegence and it has been cool to watch the increased interest in people of all ages and genders. So cool!

5. Economy is part of it but not all of it. People are just spending their money differently. Also, it is the usual ebay auction trends--if something has bids then other people put in bids because it "must be worth something or desirable" ebay trends are fun to watch and analyze.

WOO HOO!!!  Well, since you ask  - I won Ditzy Doo in the raffle at UK Ponycon!!!!!!  I was thrilled to bits, I've still yet to post in the brag forum and brag 'officially' but I saw this I thought I would reply :-)  So much pony raffley goodness!!! x x x x

I picked up a wallet for my son's brony friend but seriously, not worth the money. They are SUPER cheap, very poor quality. You are just paying for it being pony related and having brony labeling on the package. However, his friend was so happy it didn't matter.

Pony Corral / The Ditzy Doo Hot Topic Raffle: and the winner is...

My 18 year old son!  Maybe this is a brag topic but I just had to share. My son's bff is a total brony and I am constantly giving him ponies and pony merch because it is hilarious to watch him do the happy dance and squeal when he gets something new. Well, my son entered the contest for :muffin: Pony on a whim and got the call last night that he had won! He plans on giving it to his friend. I told him it was a good thing I already had one or we would be having a talk about who actually gets it  :P I am happy for him as I know he wanted one so badly and with prices what they are it was not going to happen. He is having a good month because I got him a Zecora and a DJ Pon-3 brony wallet and now this. Just had to share. Anyone else on here win one in their area?

Trader & Shipping Support / Needing some help from South Africa
« on: October 15, 2012, 09:49:26 PM »
This is probably a long shot but I really need some help with a purchase from South Africa. They don't ship to the states so I would need to ship it directly to someone in SA and have them ship it to me. I would of course pay all shipping fees and would be willing to help someone out if they needed me to purchase and ship something from the U.S. pony related or not. Just really need some help  Thanks in advance!   :)

I was going to post this too. Haha, this was hilarious :)

Hopefully this means less packaging for ponies! I always have such a hard time getting them out of the blister packs
It absolutely means that. There are images floating around somewhere of the new packaging, which consists of a mere plastic shell glued to a card :D

So, they are going back to 1980's packaging then? :) Cardboard backing with bubble shell glued to card? Or were you kidding? At any rate, it does make me happy to know they are trying to be responsible!

That is disappointing, I am so sorry hun. I agree with everyone else in that the buyer is within his rights to not ship. However, I don't see what the problem would be if you were either able to change your confirmed address or used your aunt's paypal account to pay for it. That should be completely fine. I think many people are no longer comfortable sending overseas because with all of the new requirements placed on sellers to perform lightening fast with a smile it can just add to problems. When packages start to take a while then sellers get nervous about feedback and star reports. I know I won't sell overseas most of the time with a few exceptions here or there. I would seriously rather get slightly less for my item then deal with the headache of the star system. That is just me though...

Pony Corral / Re: Show me your favorite pony shirts!!
« on: September 15, 2012, 12:25:58 PM »
Here's one of mine. I have another (Pinkie Pie's "A cupcake is not a hat"), but no picture.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

(ps press the first button the second row, and paste the image url between that [ img ] tags.)

My family was at the Aquarium a few weeks back and we saw a mentally handicapped boy wearing this shirt. Instantly I felt so offended that his parents had put him in this until I looked in his hand and saw him carrying a :muffin: Pony comicon pony :) My daughter pointed and said "he has a pony mommy" and his mom said "yes, this is his favorite pony of all". Made me giggle to myself.

My favorite pony shirt is the ringer tee that came out a while back that had Tex on it and said something like "most wanted pony" or something to that affect. So cute!

I can see both sides of it. It sucks, especially when the seller was down right scandelous. I bought a doll and the pic of it on auction was a different doll then the one I got. The one I got had writing all over the face and she bold faced lied about it until the bitter end. I still had to pay $14 dollars to return it. It sucked so bad. However, if buyers covered both to and from then people would be returning things all the time due to buyers remorse and so forth. If someone is forced to return an item and pay for it then they will be less likely to do so on a whim. Since I sell too, I can deal with this nuissance I guess.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Uhmmm...my mailman asked me for money!?
« on: September 09, 2012, 11:42:14 PM »
Pretty stupid if you ask me. Honestly, I think it's a trashy way to try and get money out of you even if you made a simple mistake. They should just return it to the sender.

The sign above the counter at my PO says to check your receipt etc. because all sales are final. I think if they make a mistake and don't charge enough, it should be on them. However, in my case it was different as it got sent to my old address and forwarded to my new address so I found out. That is definitely my fault but my delivery guy should have given me proof, not tried to shake me down for 8 bucks at my door lol.
