Certain G3 characters being reissued?!

Can anyone tell me *where* on earth they're finding these in their Targets? I had little luck with finding the G1's, as well, only seeing them on an endcap in one store.

I've scraped together a bunch of change to treat myself to just one, but I went to a Target today and had no luck finding any Basic Fun ponies at all. =(

Target has a section of retro stuff from the 70's and 80's and maybe even before the 70's and that's where I saw the G3 remakes.  I know the G3 remakes aren't 80's but someone thought they would fit with that stuff for some reason.  I saw one basic fun, Fluttershy but I didn't get it.  I think I just prefer the originals.
