Inari, a dragon
« on: February 04, 2013, 03:16:15 PM »
I made a dragon! I named her Inari (with a name generator). I sculpted her tail with Aves apoxy sculpt. I painted her eyes and scales with pearly yellow acrylic paint. You can't really tell because I only have the camera on my phone to use... I hope you like her! :) She is for sale for $35.

Very cute! I love her teeth and tail. What sized doll did you use? I've only seen Applebloom with a lifted leg.

Thank you! She was the Cherilee II from the Pony School Pals. It was part of the two-set Walmart package.

she looks really great hun!

And fun trivia: Inari is the Japanese (Shinto to be more precise) god of rice. Worshipped by benevolent Kitsunes- there are two basic types, 'field foxes' (or Nogitsune- the more malicious or even evil ones), and 'Inari foxes' which are more commonly seen as protectors and guardians (and messengers of Inari), tho they can be just as mischevious or even a bit vicious as all kitsunes have a different moral compass than humanity and are quick to act on imagined slights.

Interesting! It didn't tell me any of that, just threw a name out there. Thank you for the info! :)

But I like Wind Whistler.

Neat little custom, did you just try to match the paint color on the tail to the body?

I did, it took me three different tries, haha!

Thank you everyone! I used Spike as a guide.
