Ebay payments
« on: October 16, 2013, 02:46:01 AM »
Hi guys,

I just sold my first item on ebay!  Yayyyy!

The item says that it's still awaiting payment, but that the payment was initiated today and is being processed through Paypal.  Why is it taking so long?  Paypal payments usually go through immediately.

Should I wait to mail the item until the payment goes through?

if they paid i wouldnt worry about it. paypal has been holding all my funds until the item arrives :( so i would say just send it anyway and youll get the money eventually. so long as it says payment made.

It could be that they paid by E-Check, which can take several days to clear.

It could also be that your new to selling. I am only going to assume that because you said it was the first item you have sold on Ebay.  Paypal now holds your funds for up to 21 days. They want to make sure that there are no problems with your order, such as a dispute, claim, return, or a chargeback. After they determine that the order was fulfilled and the customer is satisfied, they will release your funds.

Ok, now I have a new problem.  When I click on my sales, instead of showing the number of views each item has, it just shows a line.   Does anyone know what this means?

I would check the transaction in Paypal to make sure why it is processing. If it is because the buyer paid with an e-check, you should wait to ship. If it is because you are a new seller, you should ship out quickly, with tracking so that your funds may be released sooner.

As for the second part, occasionally the line shows up, not sure why but it will eventually correct itself. It's nothing to worry about. :)

Is this a new account ?  I think you have to have so many sales till that is taken off your account.

You will get your money when the item is shown as deliver or when they leave feedback. I had to call pay pal on a few of my times cause the buyer never left me feedback. Pay pal it off the hold when it showed delivered.
