Title: MLP for Babies? Nursery Items?
Post by: BrandyPantz on January 29, 2012, 03:48:40 PM
So I've been thinking a lot about having a baby and that of course brings on thoughts of a nursery! I have been admiring the Care Bear nursery items for awhile now, but I thought a MLP Nursery would be so much more adorable!

Has anyone seen any MLP items for babies? I know they have toddler bedding and some blankets, but I just wondered if anything else has surfaced.

How hard is that bib to find? My best friend is expecting her first baby this year. She would LOVE a MLP bib... or anything MLP for the baby. ;)

There's an old G3-ish bib/crawler on www.thinkgeek.com that says "OMG PWNIES" on it...but the ponies look kinda mean/bada$$ X3;;;; Otherwise, I haven't seen any baby merchandise, at least not from the G4 generation. Which is a shame, I'd love to deck out a nursary in a Fluttershy theme.

You could always commission someone who quilts to make an MLP blanket.  I would offer my help but I'm just learning how to do it. :)

Check Etsy for everything!  This is what I did when I had my son.

There are G3 wall stickers I think.  :) And yes it would be easy to commission someone.  It would be fun to make a mobile. What generation are you thinking?

There was a G3  toddler bed set, which would work for a crib too, since they are the same size. Though you wouldn't be using the pillow of course.

I'd check around online. You may have more luck with G3 items.

If you are looking for clothing I know sometimes Old Navy will have MLP stuff. I had a couple of shirts and onesies for my little girl. I also had some G3 onesies  I got off eBay that were super cute.

Wow thanks for all the ideas everyone! I need to change my settings for the new forum so I get replies. I didn't see any of these!

I'm torn on what generation I'm thinking. I really like the new G4 series, but I think I like the overall G3 look better. I have seen a lot of items on eBay for G3 as well such as wallpaper, curtains, wall stickers. I would love to do G1, but that seems a lot more hard to find.

I would love to make a mobile, though I'm not sure how. I will have to look into etsy and see what I can find there.

For now I've been stock piling and restoring all the thrift store ponies I can find!

Check eBay. There is a Butterick or McCall pattern for G1 MLP felt ornaments. If you  are crafty you could make them like your favorite G3 ponies, I think they would be adorable for a mobile :)

Thanks for that suggestion! I actually found a LOT of MLP Patterns on eBay. That might work out great!

Also thanks for the toddler bedding suggestion. I did see a lot of G4 toddler bedding sets on eBay and I think I might have seen a G3 one. I know I saw curtains, wallpaper border, and the wall stickers.

As far as a mobile, they aren't hard to do.  You can either use actual ponies or hand made cloth ponies about the size of a Christmas ornament.  I'd be happy to help.  Most of the cheaper mobiles the critters have a string attached with a knot in the end and they hook onto the mobile at the knot.

Funny, I'm in a similar boat!  I've been thinking about having another baby, and while not really thinking of a pony nursery, I've also been looking at making pony related items (like baby blankets, since they're smaller to quilt).  Good luck!

I would use blind bag ponies to make a mobile! And you can find G1 fabric still on ebay and stuff I think. And definitely G3. Also you can easily paint a wall-mural yourself even if you aren't too artsy! Just use the method you see in coloring books all he time, put the image on a grid and draw a bigger grid on the wall, etc etc if that makes sense? lol.
