That would be awesome! But if it is, I hope it's Fashion Style size.
I'd like to see it remain G3. I like G4, don't get me wrong, but I think it's awesome to still have G3 alive in that way, because I really loved G3 and I often miss it.
I already feel like the Comic Con pony will probably be G4 this year or maybe next. It would actually kind of make sense, since G4 is so popular. Though even there I would love to see G3 stay alive!
I agree that the G4s are too small for the price tag already - making them $50-80 because of being a convention exclusive is really pushing it. However... it IS the current new show and the fans are rather eager to purchase anything FIM, so it would not faze me in the least to see Hasbro give it a try. I definitely see it either as a total success or a total failure... maybe they would release a combo pack of ponies or something to make it extra special - or white Celestias! Those are already limited runs... they know collectors are dying to buy properly depicted character toys... THAT would be a great idea.
I hope it'll stay as G3. Like many other people mentioned, there's the size issue with the G4s. Plus, have you seen how poor the quality is on those things? Bad enough on a $5 pony, but on an expensive fair pony with a fancy design, there's more opportunity for flaws and there are more people who are going to notice, since mainly it will be collectors buying. At least if one of the ponies is FS-sized, it won't have those awful body seams that the singles have.
I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if the ComicCon pony was a 4 this year though. Since they've been catering so much to bronies lately. If they do that, I do hope that they at least use a fashion style G4 :P
G3 FTW!
Eeeehhhh tbh they cater WAY too much to bronies now. I'm more a fan of G3...can't it live on somehow? The size and quality issues aside, I really would prefer it if they give the older fans SOMETHING.
The bronies got that terrible name ':muffin: Pony' canonised. Let them have that and leave it. They aren't the only fans, much as some of them seem to think.
4. FS Zecora.
Apart from what cartoon you liked better, the G3 molds are so over saturated. They need more G4 fashion style ponies. I can think of at least ten ponies or sets that all fans would love here are a few:
1. Pegasus Pinky Pie
2. Brushable main six in G1 colors.
3. FS Moondancer mentioned in episode 1
4. FS Zecora.
5. Any G4 pony in the correct colors..Twilight, Luna ect.

All those ponies are FIM related. How is that "cartoon neutral"?
Also, i don't think they would use fashion style ponies. I think that might get too expensive.
Also, how can one get tired of the G3 clone pose when all G4 ponies have nearly the same pose?
It would be just the same, perhaps even worse, "clone pose" wise.
Can I ask ... how is putting a fair design on a G4 body "catering to the bronies"?
G4 is simply the current generation of ponies. I am not a brony, rather a longtime collector, but I love G4s just as I love any generation of MLP. Is it wrong of me to like to like G4 and think it might be neat to see a fair design on one? I can feel the disdain dripping off your post. It's not like they're contemplating making :muffin: Pony the fair design or anything.
I like G3 too, and while I do think they make for great art ponies, I can welcome change.
Personally, I'm tired of the G3 clone pose, and the designs get more complicated, and not to mention odder each year. It's nice to have something unique once in a while, but the recent exclusives have been looking a tad tooooo unique for my taste. The complicated designs also mean the ponies often come with lots of paint errors, and I don't want to pay high dollars for flawed ponies that will bug me.
I'd like to see a G4 this year. On the contrary to many, I don't really want a FS. I like the size they are in now, great for display and housekeeping. I think if it's a G4 exclusive and priced $12-15 each, no one will actually complain about owning one.
