Title: Hidden Dissectibles: Pinkie Pie's Intestines On Display
Post by: WingsOfMasquerade on August 17, 2020, 12:59:03 AM
Has viewing Pinkie's Intestines always been something you've wanted to do?
Good news, here's your chance!
Plus, not only that, you can see Dash's 'angry bones', because her skeleton changes shape with her expressions (because cartoon) She belongs right next to Sekllita Monster High & her famous 'skeleboobs' in the pile of 'things that skeletons do not do or have'.

They're 13 dollars for a 4 inch figure with base...
AND they're blind boxed (because of course) AND there are uncommons (yet again ugh)

But like...why are the flesh side of them so good?
Why could we not have this during like, the height of G4 where everyone was going wild? I mean, they seem better than the funko smalls? AND they're in a variety of poses too? The Twilight is so nice seeming, and sitting Rarity is lots of fun. Why did it take anatomy skeleton whatever this is gimmick to get actual decent looking figures of the characters in a variety of poses. Of course I'm going to dump on the BB aspect of it, because I always dump on BB/think it's a bogus gimmick that's more frustrating than fun but that is an opinion.

See it at

https://www.mlpmerch.com/2020/08/freenys-hidden-dissectibles-mlp-figures.html

Will you get these?
What do you think?

I won't get it because it's too expensive for a blind box. I do add it to my list of things you wouldn't think you'd see though.
Also of note that it's not 'movie heads' style, nor is it the wacko/potions style even though "G4 is supposed to be over" all-together.

Oh and going to throw this in here in case your day wasn't weird enough
(No srsly if you've had enough weird stay off this following link cause...)

https://ahorseofeverycolor.tumblr.com/post/626495781504942080/sweetpastelponies-paradise-estate

If you click it you'll see a brushing Pinkie where she is literally a head with legs somehow. Look at how that back leg comes spiderly from back to front to cross over the neck arm.

I want these I'm a huge fan of art like candy gore and body horror. These could make amazing customs . Also that head....add a bunch of tentacles on it xD

I had two reactions to this.

The first was, ...Why, exactly?
The second was...wonder if I can get one for my sister for Christmas??

I still don't know what to think about this.

But I definitely know someone who'd like one.

Well. Now I understand why someone would buy an entire box of blind bags. I so need these.

Post by: Ragamuffin on August 17, 2020, 03:42:03 AM
I wish they were full ponies! I'm too burnt out on Mane 6 to buy them if they were, they remind me a bit like the Kotobukiya ponies. They're nice and expressive. Funko ponies are nice and all, but they're kinda bulky and lack personality in comparison.

The skeletons, I understand the appeal of, but it's not really my thing. $13 is a bit much... but they DO look nice.

Like the Kotobukiyas, why are we getting these so late, instead of when G4 was more popular...? :P

This skews more toward "vinyl toy" collectibles, so I don't find the price to be too far off.. maybe my head has been tainted from when I used to collect them back in the 00s. X_x;

I also don't mind blind boxes, but if it goes that route I'd want to see a bigger pool of characters.. I think limited edition and not blind boxed, with a higher price would be more appealing if I were getting these.

I think they are cool, but dissection isn't my thing.

....Ah.

Well, they're not my thing, but I'm sure other people'll get a kick out of these. And wow, only $13, really? When I saw the pics I thought for sure these were gonna be $50+ collector figures. Huh. Sucks that they're blindboxed, though; I'm tired of that gimmick, too. (It's okay for pocket money-type toys, like the MLP blind bags, but IMO if it's like... $5+ then I'd like to know what I'm buying, please!)

This is such a cool concept for a figure, surprisingly dark too. The price would be fine if you knew what you were gonna get, but yeah it's a shame they're blind boxes.

I personally don't think I'll be getting these but it's a cool concept? I might consider it if they start producing a larger variety of characters. I'm in the same boat wondering why they decided to make them, but it's certainly different!

These are amaaazing! X3 I must have them all... but blind boxes, arghh! That’s so frustrating. :( I suppose there’s little hope of a code or other identifier on the packaging?

I think the price is about on par considering how detailed these guys seem to be.
The sculpts remind me of someone on Twitter who was sharing their modeling work for Pony.

I like them, but I'm into stuff like that. I was the weird kid who kept the x-ray of my blown-out knee before I had surgery (I don't remember exactly how I happened to come into possession of it, but it's in a box somewhere), and I still take impressions of my teeth occasionally. Dissection is definitely up my alley, haha.

I don't quite understand the blind box concept, are you basically buying something where you don't know which character you are getting, is that it? If so, then yeah, I probably wouldn't bother; if I'm paying that much I'd like to know what I'm buying, but these are cool.

Oh wait, they come in a box with non-dissected ponies? Hmm. That sucks. I have to have Applejack at least. Guess I need to wait for people to find and sell them.

I think the first one is pretty cool, especially with Halloween not too far away, so it makes a kind of educational theme as well as the spooky.

The second, errr... nope

What? Nah, they're all dissected or they're chase figures.
I'm considering picking up a box to get all six, and I'll have a few extras I can sell.

They are quite interesting. I will probably get at least one to play with and maybe one to keep in box.  Might these blind boxes have codes to know which is which in stores?

It intrigues me to see their anatomy. But something about being half full body and half skeleton creeps me out. Like if it was a full skeleton maybe that wouldn't unsettle me so much.

1/24 chance for Rares (the sparkle Fluttershy or Twilight Sparkle)
1/48 chance for Ultra Rainbowdash.

I don't think this was mentioned, but there is also some clothing.

It shows as sold out because they haven't released them yet.  They just said it on their livestream that it's on the site as a preview for now.    Sales start Aug 19th.

I miss the days of knowing what you were going to get when you bought it, and blind bags were a seldom fun treat that maybe cost $3-5..
I enjoyed blind bags back then, now they're just overrun and the gimmick is more frustrating than its worth.

Ooh, I quite like these, just not the fact that they are blind boxes, especially at that price point. They remind me a bit of those Dorling Kindersley flip books with the transparent plastic pages where you'd see deeper into an animal's anatomy with each turn of the page.

I was able to purchase a full set just now? Strange, I just looked up the listing from Google and it was avaliable.
If you use the code Welcome5, you'll get 5% off your order, and to ship the entire case of 12 was free within the States.
I'll be sure to put my extras up here for anyone who didn't want to risk the blind box thing, I'll probably make an unboxing video where I'll weigh each box to see if that's an indication as to who's inside (may only be relevant for in-store ones but you never know! I could see B&N selling these).
EDIT: I had no clue these were coming from Singapore. Shipping is about the same cost as one of the blind boxes, so it may be a good idea for anyone looking to buy them to pool their money together to buy a case so the shipping is free.

I never thought the Lame Six could become interesting again but here we are! I am happy about those awesome customs becoming a reality, I will ignore the fact it's just the usual suspects with a new gimmick.

My Re-Ment skeleton dog will go great with AJ

These are not my thing so for once I’m glad it’s just the mane6.  I might have been a little miffed to actually get a new or uncommon character on a figure like this.

Lol they're pretty cool, I've seen this done for characters like Spongebob and Mickey Mouse before too. Too expensive for me and not a fan of the blind box aspect as per usual (come on when will this trend end >_<)

Where are their tail bones! One measly vertebra does not a tail make!
Although, I am super glad they didn't give the pegasi feather-bones in their wings lol

I was just thinking..
what could of been really neat for the chases is if they weren't a dissection but because they are clear you could see their innards.. kinda like similar to their gummybear: https://mightyjaxx.rocks/products/clear-gummy-bear-funny-anatomy

Also side note, I feel like I keep wanting to love these.. as I like skeletons, but I get all squirmy about innards.

I look forward to seeing some owner pics. ^^

Here's my unboxing of them! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN31diuZ6WM)
I have one of each for sale: Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Twilight Sparkle
I was thinking $15+shipping for each of them. If there's enough interest I may pick up another case for another chance at a chase (I got Twilight) and for distribution.

Oh my-  I.... ordered them!  They are so hilariously horrible !!

The pony head with legs is less appealing, although undisputedly grotesque.

Post Merge: September 21, 2020, 02:54:46 PM

I loved this artist's 3.5 ponies- even my wife was appreciative of the grotesque yet awesomeness of the "dissected" MLP...  how cool they are now licensed!  You have to give it to Hasbro sometimes for being pretty generous with its license.  You won't see a "dissectible" Barbie I wager...

I ordered the case.  I noticed Big Bad Toystore has a preorder available - you can buy the case for a whopping $215 plus shipping.  NO thanks BBTS!  I WILL say however- that they have better photos up.  Check it out- https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/133068

I don't even need the chase figures- I like the regular ones better :D

Because of the interest, and because now I want the other chase figures, I bought another full case.  ^.^
There's a free pin set today too that's limited edition, I thought they were cute ("Need more shelves" rings true) so that certainly helped push me to make that decision.
People who contacted me last night/this morning will get first dibs in order of contact, I should have Rainbow Dash, Pinkie, Fluttershy? Left over.
I hope they don't just make less Pinkie Pies, she was the one who got a double left out of the case because I got one of the chase figures. Guess we'll see.

I got my set last week- they are super cute.  I do have extras of all except Twilight I think-  I also got a Fluttershy Chase which seems kinda pointless as she is just clear and you can't see the details.

Anyway I would have liked them to have dark colored in eye sockets like this!

I got the Enchanted Twilight from the giveaway Mighty Jaxx held when they were first announced! I gotta admit, while I'm thankful for getting such a nice item for free, and one of the rare ones at that, I was pretty disappointed that it was see-thru. You can barely see the bones and such.

Long story short, I ended up getting a pack of 12. It had Enchanted Fluttershy in it, so I kind of lucked out by now having the two rares. They're all very nice quality. I wonder if I can sell my extras and then save up to get the ultra-rare Wonderbolt Rainbow Dash one day. I recently saw her listed on eBay for 200+ dollars.
