She (March Daffodil) was actually sent to my parents' as I used their address for the return label since I was in-between moves.  Otherwise, I don't think I would have ever known as I've moved a couple times since then.  There wasn't any sort of note accompanying her and the box wasn't in bad condition.  I haven't been able to find her owner yet though.

It's good they didn't go "oh, 6 years? no one's missing it now". Good for them for sending it on!

LOL, yeah I was thinking the same thing.  :)

I didn't check out all the other posts, but coupons.com has $1.00 off of any MLP figure.  :)

Trader & Shipping Support / Package returned after 6 and a half years
« on: March 12, 2013, 03:59:38 PM »
I never thought something like this would happen.  A package that I sent off during the summer of 2006 was returned from the post office.  It is in good condition from the long jouney.  I'm not sure what on earth happened, nor can I recall the details of the old transaction.  From the best of my memory, the buyer never alerted me to the fact that their pony went MIA.  I'm going to see if I can track the owner down.  (It was a G3 birthflower pony.)  This isn't really a complaint - I just found it surprising.

I used to have a pair of cockatiels that would appear to read the newspaper every single evening - and spent over an hour doing so.

My senegal parrot will tell my kiddos when it's bedtime and will squawk at them until they're in their bedrooms.  I'm not sure why since he seems to enjoy their presence during the day.

I'd be mortified if I knew I was sending wet ponies.  I'm sure that he/she has no idea that this is happening.  I've had wet ponies arrive in the mail and sometimes it's difficult to remove that musty smell.  I'd definitely want a buyer to tell me if their ponies were arriving wet.

They probably didn't have the item in stock.  It was rude to not give you an explanation though.  In my experience, Toys R Us seems to be a little notorious for that.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Which ebay disclaimers should I use?

Recently I had to add that I combine shipping for items bought under my eBay name only.  I had 2 newer buyers in one week that thought my combined shipping rule should apply to ponies that they purchased from other sellers.  (I've been selling for 7+ years and only had those 2 eBayers confused about this.  However, it may be a new issue since eBay now has a shopping cart system.  Maybe some people think eBay is similar to Amazon or something.)

I let international buyers know that their items may take a few weeks to arrive.  Some aren't aware that it can take forever.  If someone in your home smokes, you may want to mention it - and also mention if you have a pet friendly home.  I used to get quite a few inquiries about allergens.

I believe that as of now, eBay sellers who signed up within 6 months have their funds held for 21 days or 3 days after confirmed delivery for sales that are above $100.  I don't know if that rule applies to all sellers though in all countries.  (Keep in mind that PayPal does little when an item arrives not as described.)

I've purchased from new sellers before and have been delighted more often than I've been disappointed.  However, if what they're selling seems suspicious or way under market value, I may hold off.  Also, if your gut feeling is telling you to stay away - listen.  I can't tell you how many times I've kicked myself for not listening to my intuition.

New people tend to join eBay in streaks.  :)  I haven't had any recent issues with new eBayers though, so hopefully all your transactions will run smoothly as well.

(I should take that back.  I did have a new eBayer become irate that I printed their shipping label within 5 minutes of their payment.  They received a notice that their item was shipped and they e-mailed me asking what sort of shenanigans I was trying to pull since they knew that there was no way I could gotten to the post office that fast.  They calmed though after I explained what happened.  :))

 because I know that it can start to get worrisome.  Just give it a bit more time.  And very rarely does a package go missing, if that makes you feel better.

It's true that packages rarely go missing.  I think I can count on my hands how many times something has gone missing permanently out of mailing a couple thousand packages.

If it is any reassurance, I've purchased ponies from Germany before that have taken 2 months to arrive.  Some ponies that I purchased from Spain last winter took 4 months.   As far as I know, the post office can't do all that much to locate an international package without a tracking number.

I hope that you receive them soon.

She was purchased by a known scammer, Brooke Kutik.  I'm a little worried about her being relisted without her flaw being disclosed.  :(

I just wanted to send everyone a heads up that Brooke Kutik has created a new eBay account - Princessbak10  It seems like I can remember people having issues with her ever since I joined the pony community 7 years ago.

As far as I know, she has been paying with a confirmed PayPal address, but you may want to use caution to ensure that you use delivery confirmation (and keep the receipt!) just in case of any problems.  ;)
