Aww you got the Yowies figure I wanted! XD The problem with them is there's a high chance of getting their mascot characters instead of the animal ones, and they are reallllyyy ugly at that.

I bought two at a specialty candy store over a year ago and gave up after that since I didn't get one animal one at all.

Just have them sitting around and don't know what to do with them because i don't think a thrift store would accept them due to their small size. Close to just throwing them out.

Cute fennec! What a good animal to get!

I got a fennec fox in an older Yowie years ago. I still have it, it was always one of my favourites.

That newer one seems to be more detailed though!

Are Yowies similar to Kinder Eggs?

(And if so, how do they get past America's food-with-toys-in-it laws?)

EDIT: Answered my own question, sort of:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-08-13/yowie-chocolates-relaunched-for-us-markets/5656016

Where in Walmart did you find them? I have a little candy-encased-toy-shaped hole in my heart.  :P

Oh my gosh, awesome!  I love the little fennec fox!!  I saw Yowies for the first time a couple weeks ago at a World Market.  They made me think of Kinder eggs - is the chocolate any good?

^ nah the chocolate isn't really that great to be honest xD it used to be Cadbury but now they use another kind? It taste like dollar tree chocolate Santa's for stockings but thin lol

The yowie cases were in what are called "McClaines" boxes so they go up at the registers!!! Check every register if all fails go to the candy isle lol

For the toys I have bought a couple more and have found that when you shake them, the ones that sound more "free" or "loose" have animals! I got an owl and two of the characters bleeeeh. I also got a wolf and kangaroo but I lost the roo x3

It's never been cadbury chocolate on TimTams, but the ones made in the US versus the ones made in Australia are much worse.  I think they've made the chocolate more greasy to appeal to the American Market or to save money.  Not really sure.  Imported is definitely better.  Basically not-American chocolate is far superior is all.

I've had the ones the ones sold in target (now, Walmart as well) and they're truly not the same as the ones I've gotten from swaps.  It's not HORRIBLE by any means, but it's definitely different on the chocolate.  This is really a case of beggars can't be choosers.     Saja sent me some AMAZING individually wrapped kind that even had thicker chocolate and they were the most wonderful things I've ever eaten.

Oh yeah, they did indeed used to be cadbury.  I think the only reason there was a gap in production was because the people who owned the license for the characters couldn't come to an agreement with Cadbury over production.  They were Australia's highest selling chocolate when they were last in production.  And you're right, the new chocolate is not as good, that's for sure.
