I knew it was a code the first time I saw it on here, but I remember seeing it on another forum years back and it really freaked me out. xD

Still... It is a bit awkward to see it even though I know it's a code. Lol.

Nothing to worry about--everyone sees their username.  You aren't being singled out.

I was kinda like whoa at first when I see people's sigs "talk" to me, but once I found out it was just a bit of code, I relaxed. It does kinda get my attention half the time when I'm skimming through threads, but rest of the time I ignore it.

yeah first times I've seen it it freaked me out. and if I'm  having an off day I tend to avoid the arena when i see a sig talking to me and then come back when I've convinced myself its just a code

I have to admit, I really don't like it. It doesn't freak me out or anything, I just don't like it when something forces my attention. It's like an advertisement that I am forced to acknowledge whether I want to or not.

I figured out it was a bit of code pretty quickly, but it still startles me a bit every time I see it! It's like hearing someone say your name in a public place when they're talking to someone else, you can't help but jump and go "huh, what is it?"

Even though i know its a code and everyone sees their own name out still freaks me out most of the time. I have a mental illness and part of it is this paranoia that electronics will talk to me so whenever i see my name in a sig or post i have to tell myself its the code and not some sentient computer.

That's hard! Sorry you are going through that but glad you can see the funny side. It's pretty funny as long as everypony knows its just code

I may be the odd one, but though it surprises me occassionally, I actually kinda like it.  It makes me think people actually know me.
