Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

I haven't watched this since the 80s, so I'm not really up to speed on more current characters. I tried getting the basic Muppets.

I've always loved Kermit the Frog, probably because I loved Jim Henson so. I always loved all the characters he did, on SS, the Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock.

Grover was also quite amusing and I LOVE his book about the monster at the end of his book. It was gripping! Who can find fault with Super Grover, either?

I voted for Big Bird, Kermit, and Ernie. They were my favorites when I was little.

Also, Cookie Monster is scary. When I was 4 I had this dream that he teamed up with Bluto from the Popeye cartoons for world domination, which was achieved by eating everything in sight, including my kiddie pool. I know that's really funny as an adult, but when you're four years old that's really scary.

Okay, to anyone who hasn't seen the new Muppets movie that came out a couple years ago: WATCH IT. It is truly a gem.

I picked Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and Kermit. If four votes were allowed I would have certainly picked Elmo as well. Wait! GROVER? I did so not see his name! We treasure "The Monster at the End of This Book"...did you know there's an ebook sequel?

Gosh, you know...I just love them all.

Aww, I love Sesame Street! At least, I love the old Sesame Street from when I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s. I have a Super Grover t-shirt. Yes, in an adult size.

And I strongly identify with Oscar (though I have no particular affinity with trash).

My parents are professional puppeteers and both they and I have met many of the people behind the Muppets including Carol Spinney (Big Bird), Jane Henson (Jim's wife) and Frank Oz.  I can't say I'm a huge fan of the Muppets, but it's cool to actually have pictures and autographs from them.  I suppose Big Bird and Grover are my favorites.  Elmo is my least favorite - he annoys me with that high-pitch voice.

My dad was given the opportunity to join the Muppet team but he didn't want to uproot his young family to go to New York.  My sister and I were just settling into school and all our extended family (whom we are very close to) are in Seattle.  It was a very noble sacrifice on his part and I love him for the many years of thoughtful care he's given to me, my sisters and our mom.
