Taking the ACT tomorrow

I have studied quite extensively the past month to get ready, but I am still slightly nervous.  I think I am ready, but at the same time I have doubts.  I graduated high school several years ago, and am trying to get into college this fall, so I figured taking the ACT again would help me look good for college.  I've taken it once before, but it was many years ago in middle school, so I didn't worry about it too much then, but I REALLY want a good score now so I don't give the colleges a reason to feel I am not college-material...


Any one else taking the ACT/SAT soon?  Does anyone have any strategies you find useful in taking tests like this to keep from getting too stressed?

Good luck! Make sure you get enough sleep and have a good breakfast! Maybe try meditating or stretching or yoga before, too, if you're into that sort of thing!

Good luck!  In high school I took the ACT, the SAT and the SAT II.  But that was like, what, 16 years ago?    I'm sure with all your studying, you'll do fine.    I agree with TwistedWindSox to get some sleep and to eat well.

Best of luck. You'll probably do fine since you've studied a lot. Those fill in the circle tests are so mind numbing.

I got a 33 on mine. Do ALL the practice tests you can find, I must've taken about ten practice ones, took the real ACT twice (first time I messed up with reading). The English part, choosing the shortest answers is correct half of the time, this is a legit fact . Though I recommend actually knowing grammar.

You sound like you're really well prepared. Just be confident, don't worry too much or you'll get yourself a brain block! Well I'm taking my ACT too in a few months... >< Anyways, all the best! You can do it

I'd be a horrible influence for this. I had completely forgotten I'd even signed up for the ACT until my parents woke me up that Saturday morning to drive me in, so I was well-rested and not stressed (I was more worried about my upcoming semaphore test in the Navy Sea Cadets haha!). Good luck and hope you ace it!

Good luck!!!! You sound really well prepared and its a silly thing to say but nothing better than a proper nights sleep the night before if you can - means you are fresh and your mind better to recall things...

Thank you all for the advice and support!  I've finished my test, even though I didn't get a proper night's sleep.  My dog was freaking out about the storms during the night and kept me up.    But I feel like I did pretty well, I might have studied more on the math, but all the other parts went well!  Hopefully I get a good score.  Thanks again!
