Getting online videos onto DVD and stuff from Sky box onto DVD?

Hi pony peeps!


Does anyone know how to get a video from online (ie this video http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-17668955 ) onto a DVD, or an electronic file that I can put on DVD?
 
Likewise with stuff recorded from Sky which is on a Sky+ box, can anyone tell me how to get that onto a DVD/into electronic format? I probably don't have the equipment for that though

I know my Dad's managed it before with an online video but I think it 'may' depend on the site as to whether they have things in place to stop it and my bet is the BBC would be one of those but you never know what some technology whizz kids can do He also put something from Sky on DVD for me too, but then he changed his tv set up to a whole new system and can't figure it out on there Lol

Well, the only way I've found to record from a Sky box is to tape it using a video recorder or DVD recorder.  There's a USB port on a Sky box... but it doesn't do anything

I don't know about computer files though.  My sis has never been able to do that from the iplayer

Unofficially? Lol...yup...I have just got it as an FLV file for you if you can open that otherwise I am sure I can convert it to an mp4 or similar or otherwise burn it to DVD for you and pop in the post...your call!

On SkyPlus...I cant help sorry! It still defeats me on a daily basis...everytime I think I have managed to record it kicks me in the bottom and records something random instead of the trash tv I so clearly prefer!

Ok...have converted it to a format you ll be able to view no matter the software you have - it will open in WMP now fine...I could upload it to a file sharing site for you to download if you wish?
