Question about G1 ponies in general

Is it just me or is it getting harder and harder to find G1 ponies on ebay and such at decent prices? Or maybe I'm just a cheap skate LOL. It just seems like common ponies sellers are asking crazy prices.

It could be the current gen in all it's popularity :/ That could possibly make anything that's "My Little Pony" seem popular.

Yep, it's hard to find a bargain on ebay. Not impossible though. I've found a few good deals in the past few months

Yes prices are inflated right now.

I think the six ponies that Faust used as inspiration (Firefly, Sparkler, etc.) are particularly inflated at the moment.

Come on over and check out sales on the arena! There are many very reasonably priced ponies for sale here...

yeah i've found that most people in the areana sals forum are very nice  ^^ and willing to help  and often have  cheaper then ebay.

You can get some great bargains here on the arena I find eBay far too over priced and too many crazy bidders. Good for selling, not for buying

eBay prices ebb and flow. A few months ago there were lots of cheap G1s there.

I agree - I always hit up sales on the Arena first - an open and honest collecting community like this tends to keep prices on a nice average.

Pony prices are always up and down and in general they are probably "up" right now on where they were a year ago but in all honestly quite a few pony prices remain "down" on where they were maybe 3 or so years ago. So its probably general popularity, a surge in the collecting community and some ponies finding [by going up or going down] just the rough price average they should comfortably sit at.

The other big reason to buy from the arena is that we understand condition of ponies. Many ebay sellers do not know how to describe condition and buyers end up sending ponies back for refunds due to condition not as described or major issues not mentioned.
