=/

The rule of thumb I like to follow is that if you couldn't kick your package down a flight of stairs without damaging it, it's not ready to send. I hope you get some kind of refund.

This series is beautiful. You have quite the talent for composing beautiful, natural-looking shots.

I really love her sunkissed look and I agree that her sun symbol is very funny. Something about the SHS just doesn't sit right with me, though. I think it's that compared to the mainline ponies, their poses seem very sterile and expressionless.

Yep it did. It was my 1996 Pokemon annual. Tried cleaning it but the stain didn't come off. So I had to bin it.

That's tragic and I'm sorry. Spiders are vile.

Spoiler
DISCLAIMER: I know perfectly well spiders are not vile and are in fact very important to the environment. That doesn't stop the visceral feeling of disgust I feel punching me right in the amygdala when I see one, LOL

I want to see a proper report and study into this before we assume anything. Because sometimes assumptions and fears have more harmful consequences than the reality.

I agree. I don't think there are very many people in this thread actually arguing that MLPs definitely don't pose any threat whatsoever, but largely unsubstantiated handwringing does nothing but make our lives worse. I think several people have also brought up that with all the environmental pollutants we come into contact with every day, MLP is pretty far down on the list of concerns. I'd tend to agree with that. It's hard to get worked up about dangerous levels of lead that might or might not be in my vintage toys when we can't even get the politicians in my country to believe that global warming is a real thing that exists.

Woodwind and brass instruments!

It didn't start as a collection for me. In fact it wasn't until just about exactly two years ago that I went into a 'collecting' mindset. For by then I was convinced I would never return to school (for music or otherwise) and started going wild just buying whatever I wanted.

Spoiler
My woodwind collection minus the oboe I play on and another late 19th/early 20th century oboe I found:

In terms of brass, I have two trumpets, a cornet, a French horn, and a trombone.

I probably would have more. I would certainly have an English horn, and I would probably have some form of Early music woodwind by now, but I went back to school, putting the collection on hold.

Out of curiosity, do you plan on getting your hands on a tuba? :P

OMFG that is seriously freaking cool!!! What an awesome mashup/crossover of two of my fave things as well.

Love your new custom - and what an awesome anniversary present :glitter:

Wow, such an unusual custom! Very cool :frolic:

Thank you both! It does make you wonder why MLP-style dinos weren't more of a thing in the first place. The closest thing I can think of is the Little Miss Dinosaur line, but their faces are a little strange...

If I remember correctly, the refund money sits in your Paypal account until you decide to transfer it to your bank account manually.

These look like children's book characters. Seriously, these designs are adorable and you should be proud. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your future work.

Woah, nice find, she looks great. I feel you on the lighting -- that shade of pink is so insanely hard to capture on camera, but it's gorgeous in person.

Off topic, but I'm dying to know -- who are the adorable kitties behind her? :)

It's her face (not just hers, but every pony in this pose). The pose itself looks kind of shy actually, it's very nice, but the look on her face doesn't sit right with me. :lookround:

Now that you mention it, I do think I see a hint of a self-satisfied smirk...

Hm.. the way I always saw it is, if they have removable clothes then they're a doll, if their clothes are molded on then they're an action figure. If that makes sense.

That's an interesting one that I haven't heard before! Unfortunately it's easily disproven; plenty of smaller/budget dolls will have molded-on clothing simply because it's cheaper and/or easier for little hands to deal with. The EAH budget dolls have molded bodices if I'm not mistaken, and here are some vintage toys that have entirely molded clothes but are decidedly more on the "doll" side of things:

I have some others, but I'm not actively them now....unless you count action figs as dolls!

That's actually an interesting conversation to have. My honest opinion is that action figures are dolls, simply renamed so that it's more acceptable in society's eyes for boys to play with them. :P This is my opinion purely because I haven't heard anyone be able to articulate the exact definition of "action figures" versus "dolls" that there aren't counterexamples for.

Blythe - I keep telling myself to stop because CWC's attitude towards their Western fans hasn't been the greatest, they're expensive and I'm running out of shelf space...and they manage to crumble my resolve every time...

BeGoths - I'm not a fan of all the characters, but I like enough of them to consider myself a collector! With their high-quality clothes and beautiful, unique facial screening, I think it's a huge shame that they didn't stick around for longer.

Furbies - I know a lot of people find them creepy, but I think that's part of what I like about them. I've always been attracted to things that straddle a fine line between sweet and unsettling, and I think Furby hits that mark really well.

Dolls that catch my interest in general, particularly rabbit-themed dolls

As for non-toy things, I make it a point to have at least one bow or hair accessory for every outfit. My head just feels naked if I don't. :P

Love this!!!!!

OMG that's fantastic! :D

Thank you both! This is definitely an anniversary present I'm treasuring for a very long time.

Amusingly, because she's full resin, she's very heavy -- just like a dinosaur should be!

:) Her Etsy shop is DarcisaurusCreations and she still has one dino left for sale, if you're interested! I absolutely love mine and I'm considering commissioning something in the future if that's an option!
