Pony Corral / Re: Plastisizer leakage on G3's vs overall value?« on: March 21, 2014, 05:53:16 AM »I dont think it really affects value unless it changes the appearance of the pony permanently. If it simply leaves the pony hard then I dont think that bothers too many people and I would not down price a pony if that was its only fault. If it changes the appearance of the pony once its finished - be it discolouration or finish or age marks - then yes I think it will affect value. It kind of depends the degree of change how much the value is going to move. I agree. Considering that plastic deterioration is something you can't really avoid it shouldn't affect their value too much in theory. However if the ponies go totally gross (like some of the Divine Shines) or otherwise change appearance significantly then you'd have a harder time selling them. To me personally plasticiser leakage isn't much of an issue as long as the pony hasn't gone really sticky. I have no issues with hardened plastic or plastic that has slightly changed colour. 35
Pony Corral / Re: Taobao/Ebay Finds - Master Thread« on: March 13, 2014, 03:30:54 AM »So, these aren't new, but I don't think they've been posted here yet. I had a yellow one of those as well as the purple one. The eyes are painted a little sloppily but they're still pretty interesting. (Also I'd recommend downloading the image and uploading it to an image host like Photobucket.) 36

Ew. What's with her awkward looking nose? Do not want. Also she's has humanised body proportions and I like my ponies to be ponies.

I've had a load of back cards for years and have never been able to get rid of them. I wish you luck!

Pony Corral / Re: Who was in your childhood herd?« on: March 09, 2014, 05:05:35 AM »
Most of my ponies were hand-me-downs from my cousins. We did buy a few though. I remember going into Toys R Us and buying Bangles the hair-do pony!
So Soft Gusty Brightglow Sunspot Bangles (hair-do pony) Rollerskating Melody Pony Bride Merry Treat Sports-Time Cherry Sweet Fireball (I lost him on holiday in Australia! He was my favourite too!) Kitchen Playset Lanard fakies Others who are lost to the mists of time. . . Much to my dismay only Brightglow and Pony Bride are left. I remember selling a few and then regretting it years later. 39
Pony Corral / Re: black stains on "Pink & Fabulous Pinkie Pie" ?« on: March 01, 2014, 07:57:30 AM »
Ack, it's the Halloween G3s all over again. They came with black clothing and exactly the same thing happened.
http://www.mlparena.com/archive/Forums//viewtopic/t=82299.html Black fabric clothing on ponies is bad news because the black dye leaches into the plastic. I would suggest writing to Hasbro themselves and explaining the issue. You could take Pinkie Pie back to exchange her but there's no guarantee you'll get a "clean" one next time. 40

Pony Corral / Re: The UK PONYCON 2014 - let's get excited thread« on: February 25, 2014, 04:27:13 AM »So lets hear about your visits to UK Ponycon in the past. It's looking unlikely I'll be able to attend this year. Lack of funds to put into a stall. I shall provide feedback anyway so it can potentially help others out. How about your past UK Ponycon experience? I've been to Brighton and Cardiff. Brighton's venue was too quiet due to it being too far out of the town. Cardiff's venue was much better. What was the best location for you? Out of the two I've been to it's definitely Cardiff. Which UK Ponycon did you enjoy most and why? Cardiff. The venue was lovely and well-situated. It was close to everything and it was only a short journey from there to Cardiff Bay and the city centre. The staff at the venue were friendly (one very nice lady bought a pony from my stall! ) and from my personal experience were helpful and they seemed interested in what we were doing. I can't speak for others though. Really excited for the venue announcement! If it's somewhere I can get to easily it's more likely I can go. 42
Price Check Archives / Re: PC Please! - Unmentionable Pony WeLoveFine Bag! x« on: February 24, 2014, 01:13:57 PM »
I sold mine on eBay in August last year for the same as the retail price. It was a gorgeous, well made bag but it was too big for me sadly.

I've never seen a Feathermay with even a similar head and body colour. The head is always paler than the body.

Pony Corral / Re: UK PONYCON 2014 Feedback Survey - Have Your Say!« on: February 16, 2014, 03:30:24 PM »Sorry but is Ponycon like Bronycon in the states? Or is it a trade fair? It's a convention focusing on all generations and mostly consists of events and dealer's tables. It's a fairly small convention (that's not a bad thing!) too. Survey done! |
