I was watching a video from Madhunter Channel, which is a popular blog of a Star Wars and vintage collector and then this image just pop:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
This images belongs from Lili Ledy's 1985 catalog, owned by Mrs.Celia who worked for Lili Ledy for more than 19 years.
Apparently there was "Ponies Arcoiris" or "Rainbow Ponies". But I never seen this little beauties before in my life neither in a colection of someone. I only have seen the normal ponies and I even own a couple of lili ledy ponies by my own
If you're interested, you can watch the full interview here (Spanish, but with English subtitles)

Oh wow I have never seen this before, thank you for sharing. Those ponies look lovely with rainbow hair :inlove:
I doubt they were ever actually made as the Lily Ledy factory burned down and only ever the first set of collectors pose ponies was ever made by them. It is most likely they were "samples" made for the catalogue to show buyers (store owners) what what in the pipe line :)

A shame that they were likely never made but what a neat thing to pop up in a video like that. Maybe somebody will want to make a custom pony of some of them.

You never know! They could well have been produced along with other goodies we don't know about. After the Lily Ledy factory was burned down, manufacture was moved to the Auriken toy factory.

So interesting! Thank you very much for sharing!
It caugh my attention that in the interviewer mentioned possible explanations for the closure of the company and the lady said the reason was due to problems with the labor union/syndicate and not something else. So it seems like the factory burned down is a myth?

I would have loved to see these versions produced! They remind of Mexican Firefly and Medley with rainbow hair. Thanks so much for sharing :lovey:

The information came from Mexican collectors, I can't remember if they spoke to people who worked in the factory or from the newspapers at the time. Sadly PeppermintTruly's website now longer works >_<
ETA found this on a Star Wars forum:

Hi friends!! I am new in this forum, I am from Mexico. I just want to tell that the old Lili Ledy factory is now a Sale Store. The store is called Sanborns, They are restaurants, library, and a gift store. As a notice lili ledy was on fire back on 1985 and the employees stole all the merchandise when the fire was stinguish because lili ledy was broken and the owners can't pay the salarys of the employees so they stole all the merchandise that was left after the fire. I ll be back with more storys!!

Well , there are parts of that story that are true and some are not!! ..... YES , The factory was a Store , not anymore as you can see! ( the building conserved the original design) , NO , Lili Ledy Factory DIDN´T BURN OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, it was another factory and it didn´t burn , it fall down in the 1985 Mexico City great earthquake , it was called PLASTIMARX, NOT Lili Ledy!!!! Mmmmm.... the employees didn´t stole the items, they took it after it went to bankruptcy !! .. LOL!!! ...
I think it is best to read the threads   :lookround:

This amazes me that even after almost 40 years we are still finding out about 'new' ponies, even if they are ones that might of never made it to production!

thanks so much for that youtube link - that was a lucky connection to get that man's grandmother to tell her story of the company shutdown (not a fire) and a wonderful surprise to find they had a rainbow hair CP line. It's cool to make that connection and see that idea became medley and firefly actually in production and who knows, maybe there are rainbow CPs running around in the wild still :-)
love how we are still piecing together the history! thanks so much for sharing and I also think minty is my fave (eyes a double in herd) so might need to make a rainbow myself at some point...
